There will be plenty of tickets available on the secondary market, but definitely not at face value. If there is a waiting list of 15,000 for season tickets, how are there single game tickets available? I know some Tickets have to be held back for the visiting schools, but I assume most SEC schools use their full allotment. After season ticketholders buy up any available single game tickets, do you think any tickets will be available to the general public for the Arkansas or Oklahoma games?
They don't sell every seat in the stadium as a season ticket. The SEC does require that you make a certain percentage of the stadium available for visitors but the number is lower than it used to be and schools are supposed to pre-sell their away tickets to their own season ticket holder, then return any unsold inventory in July to the home team. Only a few schools even request the full number on the front end, and all but Georgia and Alabama have returned at least some tickets the last few years. UT also holds back certain sections and tickets for recruits, alumni/Letterwinner events, cheer/band day, and other University programs. So entire sections that are full of those guests for some games end up sold for other games as single game tickets. If there is a waiting list of 15,000 for season tickets, how are there single game tickets available?
