2025 Seed Watch Party Thread

Still going with the scared, hide-in-the-corner theme this morning I see. Let’s come at it from another angle. I wonder how many teams want to see the Vols in their bracket knowing they are going to get beaten up in a 40 minute rock fight? Ask Duke how much they enjoyed it the last time we played them in the tournament. As a high seed, once you get past the first game you will generally see a pretty good team no matter what bracket you get. Line up and play and let the chips fall where they may.
Truthfully I want an easy matchup until the Round of 16. I don't want to see another Barnes first week potential exit, it would be bad for him personally and bad for the fans.

Your commitment to histrionics and fear-mongering is impressive, but why don't you nut up and cut the Chicken Little act? It's beyond obnoxious at this point.

This. We also have no way of knowing what seed Gonzaga is. Lunardi and 150 others will make predictions between now and Sunday. The Zags are top 10 in the NET so they very well could be higher. Fear-mongering at its best from ABtheVolsfan92 this morning.

I’m worried the team manager for whatever 15/16 seed we play in the first round might find a way to slip laxatives into our Gatorade. Praying that doesn’t happen. I’m losing sleep at night over it.

It will be a lot of these guys’ last year playing college ball (like 75% of the roster). That gives me hope that most of them will be playing like it’s their last in every game. I don’t think effort or intensity will be an issue. Get a good draw regardless of a 1 or a 2 seed and maybe these guys can rattle off a string of wins and go on a run.

Still didn’t answer my question. Instead of being afraid of your shadow, tell me who is licking their chops to see us in their bracket. The answer is nobody. Knowledgeable fans know exactly what that means. A 40 minute dogfight. Just like it would be if you draw Houston.

Beginning to agree with Mook. You are simply trolling but are getting more transparent. It’s becoming obvious now. Do better.

any chance to make this tournament easier on us, I'll take it

For right now, tomorrow he’ll be terrified of them and tell us how they should be a 3 seed
Which begs the question, why is Memphis ranked as a 8 or 9 seed with their record and top 25 ranking. For instance Wisconsin who are ranked 18 th are at a 4 seed where Memphis is ranked 16 th and carries an 8 seed. Ranking obviously has little to do with seeding.

AP gives you a lot of credit for record and name recognition. Wisconsin is #14 on Torvik while Memphis is #59, an edge case for an at large bid. Memphis has big wins but they also have 3 Q-3 losses.

Answered your own question, AP voters don’t look into metrics and quads

Welcome to the discussion. LOL

Poll rankings have never been part of the seeding process. Wisconsin is projected as a 4 compared to Memphis at an 8/9 because of the following:

NCAA NET Ranking: Wisconsin 19th, Memphis 47th

KenPom Ranking: Wisconsin 11th, Memphis 50th

SOS: Wisconsin 32, Memphis 79

Quad One wins: Both have 6

Wisconsin also plays in the Big Ten, which is a much stronger conference than the American, so they’ve been battle tested more often than the Tigers, hence the wide gap in SOS.
