You should do a more thorough job of researching my commentary. I was asked earlier today if I still thought we were ahead of Houston on the S-Curve. My answer was yes. Am I in the room with the selection committee? No. Have I followed college basketball and closely monitored the committee’s pattern over the last few decades? Yes. I stand by everything I’ve said. If I end up being wrong, I’ll admit it. If I’m proven to be right, will you admit it? I doubt it.You seem so certain of everything you say. Two weeks ago you were adamant that Houston could not possibly jump us, but now I see you have at least admitted that was not to be the case. Yes, the two data points you just threw out there are important, but so is the NET, which they are higher in. They are also higher in KenPom.
Lunardi also mentioned live on air this week the Committee is going to really value good road wins, so clearly someone on the Committee told him that, and if that’s the case Florida has the edge there as well. You make all of this seem so black and white when it’s not.

The committee has valued quality road wins for years and years and years. To act like this was some revelation someone leaked to Lunardi is laughable.
I haven’t heard anyone lobby for Alabama as a 1-seed in recent days. They’ve lost 4 of 6 in the last two-plus weeks. Florida lost to Georgia a week ago. They have a couple of awesome road wins but you can’t argue their lack of Quad One wins and subpar SOS compared to ours.I said in my original post that I saw you changed your mind on Houston, not sure how you missed that. I’m only pointing out that you seem absolutely certain that there is ZERO chance Tennessee will be 2-seed if we win out and do okay in the SEC tournament. I’m just noting that I think it’s significantly closer between Tennessee and Florida’s resumes and it’s not a certainty we get the 1.
I don’t think anything is absolute, but you just seem so convinced it is. We very well may get the 1-seed, but this is a dog fight for the last spot and I’ve just seen far too many legacy sports media personalities lobbying for Florida/Alabama’s resume the last few days and very little lobbying for us, which usually tells me something about our chances.
I was just thinking the same thing, also if chalk holds up I believe we would be the 3 seed in SEC tourney and potentially play Flordia in the semifinals. Of course that would be on Saturday and I doubt the committee would take it into consideration, so who knows.Lunardi has us at 5, ahead of Alabama which is nice, and says we’re right behind Florida. Suppose between Houston playing Baylor and Florida playing Ole Miss there’s still an outside shot of a 1.
Sounds like a perfect example for the committee to show again that the tourney doesn’t matter lolI was just thinking the same thing, also if chalk holds up I believe we would be the 3 seed in SEC tourney and potentially play Flordia in the semifinals.
