Looked at returning OL for 2025 and it looks like we've got good depth IF the players have been developed. We've got 6 4*, a 5* and a highly rated JUCO returning. That's 8 total highly-rated OL that have had a year or more in the system. And, we've got a few highly-regarded 3* guys that could push for playing time as well. Looks like we're a little low on experience, but high on potential. Could this group be better than the '24 OL? We probably have a drop-off at C and G (Spraggins), but should be better at both T positions and maybe better at one G position.

You haven’t heard? This O-line has been like Swiss Cheese since Heupel got here and it’s getting worse every year.

If Satterwhite can play well at center will be a big key. Good Centers are very important. This year will show us a lot about how Ellerbe is developing players. I am not either real up or down on Ellerbe at this juncture. He hasn’t done as bad as a lot of folks say, but this year will tell a lot about how well he has been developing new players that have been in the system a year or 2 and are now going to be sent to the wars in the trenches. Also to see our returning players like Heard and Juco Larry Johnson. I especially think Heard should make a big jump this year if he is going to reach his potential. People don’t factor he has had to battle injuries early at LSU and needed a few games to get into shape this year. He came along way from the Oklahoma game to the Vanderbilt game. I also think Johnson is capable of having a very solid season. I am very interested to see how this group responds to pushing itself in the strength and conditioning room. Lots of folks talk the talk but that’s where games are won and lost. It takes dedication and commitment, we need a Al Wilson in the weight room everyday. You got to have leaders in the weight room and you need them to be able to get folks attention. I could tell you the story about Harry Galbreath from my hometown. He defied a lot of odds from being a chubby high school O Lineman to the strongest man on the team at the end of his redshirt season. He wasn’t super big by sec standards but a solid strong block 6’0 285-290 pounder that learned great technique GBO!

After last season, I almost want to move big boy Heard to OG. Maybe we can coach him up to his potential. Big guy needs to be in shape and nasty for next season.

this is very encouraging---its not as bad as I thought and having 8 players having been in the system going on 2 years by start of next season is amazing. We simply need to develop them. Still work that portal!

Edit: I originally I messed up by saying 8 players in the system for 8 years. That would be some damn good depth! 8 years as a Vol??? put that man on a contract lol.

Are you being sarcastic? I hope so tn 11-2 then 9-4 then 10-3 last year you can;t do that with ****** offensive line
they can't block forever if receivers are not open and running game was great most all year

People say that every great QB has a great WR but I think a great QB is more dependent on a center than that. he can get by with good WR's and still shine. A below-average center can be the difference between making the Hall of Fame. 9/10 the best QB's have good centers.

My kingdom for a solid center.
A good center is crucial and Cooper bragged a lot on Satterwhite. I feel pretty good about that situation.
Just need Nico to take that next step and 1 WR to be a difference maker consistently. The sky is the limit if we just get those 2 things checked on the wishlist.
(Defense is another story but I think they'll be good enough, maybe like last season)

Tennessee is set to begin it's run of dominance in 2025, and it will be on the backs of our elite OL. There will be 8 future NFL draft picks in the OL room. 9 if we get another transfer as rumored.

Very curious to see how we use Warren, Perry, LJIII, and Sanders Jr. Only one can start at RT. LJIII does not have an NFL future at OT, could he move inside and play LG? Could Sanders Jr play LG knowing that he'll move out to LT in 2026? Can Perry push Satterwhite at center? Surely our coaches will find a way to provide some competition for Satterwhite. Lots of options.

Sanders is not playing LG and Max Anderson is listed as backup C. I believe Pendleton also played C at Notre Dame, so I doubt Perry is used there.
