I know that but at least it's a warm body with some length...
Luka will never be an All-Defense guy. We all know this.
But the reason he needs to lose 20 lbs is so he can at least give a consistent effort. He doesn’t right now because he’s overweight and has to save everything for offense. I’m not asking him to turn into Dyson Daniels, what I’m asking is to do what Steph Curry has done, which is get in awesome shape and give a ****. That at least helps negate some of the shortcomings on the defensive end. There is zero excuse for what he has put on the floor as a defender for his career.
The lakers stretch to end the reason fooled people into thinking they were contenders this year. The Mark Williams failed physical ended any hopes of actually competing. Reeves and Knecht will likely be on their way out for bigs and the Lakers will be back in contention
Edwards punked LeBron in Game 4 pushing him down the court. Didn’t score in the 4Q even though he played the entire second half. Lebron is always talked about as being the most well-conditioned NBA player of all-time so where was he? Can’t be making excuses for him just because he is 40. That was the game to make it a series and Lebron was a no-show down the stretch.Edwards punked LeBron in the 4Q? How so? He made 1 shot and ended up 5-19 and 0-11 from the field for the game.
Woah now, people can’t be calling him the GOAT whenever he has a sidekick like Luka and can’t close the deal in a crucial Game 4 to tie the series. No excuses. You have someone that talented in their prime playing along side you, then you should win more than 1 playoff game.Lebron is 40. Luka is a top 3 player in his prime playing days. How is it still on Lebron?
Lakers didn't have a real center and they lost to a complete team with a superstar who outplayed Luka both ways. That's what happened.

No need to argue with the individuals in this thread.. they know it all and have done it all, nothing against any of them they are 5* recruits who played big time basketball in college and pros...you don't believe me just ask them...
What are you talking about? I've been in this thread for 12 years and have no idea about anybody's playing history, except I remember when long-lost Dallas was on his HS team. I think Jerry said he played HS.
I made final cuts at ORHS* as a sophomore when the JV/Varsity coaches had no idea who I was. Then I moved out west and made the team there, but didn't play much. Thought I should've played more. Figured it was because I didn't know the coach. Didn't try out the next year. That's my playing history. Not great.
NBA stars prove they don't know **** about hoops all the time, and I don't think anybody here thinks prowess as a player means anything with regard to NBA opinions.
* @chuckiepoo will appreciate this...the next summer I went to OR for a visit, and watched the basketball team in a scrimmage with some friends. The varsity coach walked up to me and said, "You look like a basketball player, wanna try out?" I said, "I did last year, and you cut me." and your brother was right there and he thought that was so funny.
I’d argue this years team is better than last year. Minnesota is deeper, Edwards and McDaniels have taken steps forward, and Randle brings more physicality than KATThis team is different. They had KAT last year and Randle now. Randle has notoriously underperformed in the playoffs and yet whenever he plays the Lakers he becomes one of the best players in the league.
I don’t blame them if that’s the case. Mark Williams is pretty salty about it so it makes you think there’s much more to it. This year was always a throwaway if expectations were title or bust but if they wanted to compete deeper into the playoffs they needed to have someoneI have a conspiracy theory about that. He didn't fail a physical. Some combination of JJ, Lebron, and Luka put their heads together and said the center needs to be more like Lively (defend the rim and stretch the court vertically the lob threat). That's what Luka needs.
Williams is really good, but athletic rim runners create space and Williams is more the type of center to take up space. Yes, he's a threat as a rim-runner, but it's more in a below the rim way.

I sent my Randle apology form in a couple months back. I referred to him as a turd when we traded for him. I think Ant brings out the best in him from a competitive standpoint and he’s also in a contract year. He’s got 50 million reasons to bust his ass every night. Between Randle, Naz, and Rudy, the Wolves have so much flexibility in the front court to play big or small depending on matchupsRandle isn't my favorite guy, but I think he deserves a lot of credit right now. The offense is pretty good, but not always a great fit with teams. I think it is a good fit in MN. I don't think the D is as bad as everybody says, I just think he's been banged up in prominent moments. Last playoff he couldn't move at all and people acted like that was who he is with effort. This series, he looked fine, but it helps that Reaves is the only guy who could try to take him off the bounce, and Reaves wasn't playing well.
My playing career was bright started on a team that came in second in the State in the mid 80's . Then in a blink of an eye I saw her staring out me with those gorgeous blue eyes and nine and a half months later my world wa turned upside down. What are you talking about?
