2025 Endzone's Best Ball Challenge - Masters Tournament

I was also surprised to see Bryson buckle on Sunday.

LIV golfers were noticeably absent from the top of the Sunday Leader Board this year. Maybe the carefree fun format of playing 3 rounds in shorts has softened some of them to the grind of a Major. Phil is past his prime for ANGC, so he gets a pass.

Don’t disagree, but Reed finished top 5.

2 LIV golfers were top 5. 5 in the top 14

I guess I really didn't count that out well. Wouldn't mind seeing some crossover play allowed to those guys outside the majors.

Rory also been vocal against them leaving the tour, so no surprise Bryson indicated Rory gave him the silent treatment. Aside from it being the fianl pairing on a Sunday, and you don't expect them to hold hands all day, you'd think a golfer of Rory's "standing" would be professional. It was quite obvious even on the TV coverage. Or maybe Rory is just a prick. My take on Rory's game overall the last few years was spending too much time worrying about LIV departures. It was made a bigger deal than it should have been. The kid should've been chasing Woods, but he just won his 1st major in 11 years. I really thought he was gonna hand this win over to whoever wanted it.

Golf has it etiquette. It's the game. But, it shouldn't be stuffy.
Fwiw, Rory has backtracked over the last year or so on LIV. Admitting they’ve helped the game as a whole, brought more time off to the PGA Tour and bigger purses, etc. I think he was just focused on keeping the demons in his head marginalized. And I’m not a Rory fan, maybe not as bad as you.

As for the LIV players, I think it was more about being slightly unexpected names from LIV playing well.

He prob needed to backtrack to get himself out of it. He had spent far too much effort on that at the expense of his game. He was distracted by his own demise. I'm not a fan. Also not a hater. He's got game. I don't dislike him. He's just always come off a prick IMO. Sure, he's got 29 total victories, but what, only 5 majors now? Talent wise, he's much closer to the pack than to a healthy Tiger. But, now that he shed the monkey and the Augusta demons, he may well go on a tear.

The PGA was brutal pre-LIV. I'm sure sports spouses have to come from a breed that understands being a pro atlete of any kind. But, a newbie trying to climb the pecking order and make some money can go weeks on end away from home the way the weekly tournaments are set up. Many left Augusta yesterday and this morning headed to the next venue. JJ Spaun literally had not been home for the 5 weeks prior to his recent win.

LIV did sign some talent for sure. I'd normally expect to see a few at the top in the venues they're allowed to participate. But, I'd like to see things level up. It's OK that the PGA is no longer the only game in town.

So, coming up this week, does playing in hte Corales mean you weren't even good enough to go to hilton head?
