LSU and Texas Tech in the Championship next year o_O o_O o_O o_O

LSU and Texas.

College football isn’t going to let their precious Arch Manning go off to the NFL without winning a championship.

- Arch wins a championship before going to the NFL

- His uncle Peyton, won a Super Bowl before retiring.

What a “great” story line.

The judge who granted the TRO for Bediako has been discovered to be a six figure donor to Alabama athletics. Also, from what I read, his wife is a lawyer who is representing Darius Miles in his murder case. It's all completely legit.
I read yesterday the NCAA is asking for Congress to get involved. I guess that's a sign the NCAA is waving the white flag and throwing their hands up and asking for help because once judges are getting involved then nothing the NCAA can do with this mess.

I clearly think myself that if something isn't done soon and rules into place then college sports is done for good. Eventually boosters and mega millionaires will stop giving all their money to colleges because there is no ROI if they don't win a Natty every year or go to playoffs every year and eventually fans will stop going to games too because your good players leave every year or tickets or beers etc will continue to go up and affordable to keep up paying millions in players salaries.

Example: Me personally had season tickets to the Florida Marlins for years when I lived in Miami for years. I finally cancelled my season tickets because Marlins started trading all the good players every year, a beer started costing $15 for one beer and $6 for one bottled water and mini pizza $25 and I had free parking with my season tickets and they started charging me $20 to park with season tickets. I gave it all up because it became stupid expensive and made no sense for me to keep spending money on a inferior product. I barely even watch pro sports anymore because I can't even keep up who plays for who anymore and college sports is becoming the same with the transfer portal.

But that’s not what happened here. He didn’t get drafted and dislike his position. He’s played for THREE DIFFERENT NBA FRANCHISES’ G-League teams. He last played college basketball in 2024.
Didn't he leave school with eligibility still left? That happens every year all across college sports. The NCAA has allowed about 5 guys to come back since they have eligibility. It's a crap shoot with the NCAA. Looks like it's a case-by-case ruling and if someone gets denied, they run to the court system.

What do you think ROI means for mega boosters? I doubt any money is coming back their way other than maybe perks from the universities.

It's not like they're investing big bucks and hoping to get more money back from that investment

I've never really hated LSU, but now I do!

What this will lead to is a player leaves early for the NBA, and by the time he's 32, he can't stay on an NBA roster, and some college will offer him a nice NIL chunk of change, and he'll go back to a college team.

Locked on Vols had on the Penn State Version of Locked On and had these things to say about the 4 PSU transfers:

Chaz Coleman:
- Elite Pass rusher
- Still needs to develop as a run stopper and put on some weight
- Said he has NFL-ready pass rush moves NOW
- Sees him as a potential top 10 pick.

Xavier Gilliam:
- Super athletic DT
- 3 down interior linemen and a great pass rusher
- Flourished in the Knowles system

Amare Campbell:
- QB of the Defense, extension of Jim Knowles
- Elite player, smart player
- Said there were times where he was moving guys around pre-snap and getting them exactly where they are supposed to be

Dejuan Lane:
- Good in pass coverage
- Not afraid to come down in the box and make a tackle
- Would've been a starter at Penn State, and said he is only going to continue to get better

They must have felt that way last year, too. Then the season happened and you could tell not getting more DL help was a mistake. Same for secondary.
"Mistake" implies they didn't know better. Adding ineffective bodies that you paid too much for doesn't necessarily improve the result. They are always trying to balance budget against results.

I deal with this all the time in my business. I know how to build the product you want. I may not be able to do so for what you are willing to pay or with the resources I have.

The first time Seaton takes a play off and it gets Leavitt’s hair messed up after being sacked and he can’t get the ball to Cam Coleman, there will be sideline and locker room issues. This is a toxic mix of egos led by the biggest narcissist in sports. What could go wrong?

Great info. I feel like we’re going to be deeper and more talented at linebacker than we’ve been in 30 years, maybe ever. I think we’re going to be a little lighter and quicker in the DL, even with our DT’s. We’ll be able to generate pressure up the middle with Hobbs and Gilliam, and on the edge with Coleman and Norman.

The question is, can our talent and depth at LB mitigate our somewhat smaller size on the interior d line? I think it will. I also think we’re going to see some big jumps on the d-line with guys like Campbell, Utley, simply due to Rodney Garner and the new strength coach from Indiana. I also expect guys like Tyree Weathersby to flourish in this system. Can’t wait

Which is the weird disconnect in sports. Part of it is business. Part of it is fandom. Nobody is getting any meaningful return from NIL. How far are people willing to stretch the system for fandom (cult membership?) before business considerations correct it?

Seems to me that if you still have college eligibility and you don't like where you are drafted, you should be able to return to college. So, take for instance Colton Hood. If he falls down the draft board, he should be allowed the option to return to Tennessee. (NOT SAYING THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN. It's just an example.)If a guy can be drafted into the NBA and still have eligibility according to the NCAA or the courts or whoever made that decision, it should apply to underclassmen in the NFL draft, too. The added benefit is the chaos it could create in the NFL, and the possibility it helps push forward some reform to how we determine eligibility.
I’m sure we’ll get a court case soon enough. They can’t say signing with an agent is an issue anymore.

Having these 4 on the field is enough to greatly improve our defense. Not including the other additions. I'm really starting to get excited about our defense next year.

I thought Cam Coleman went to Texas?
