Defense cant tackle if the line dont slow them down. Esp if they get pushed off the ball. Trotting one Sr, and underclassmen, walk ons aint gettin' er dun.I'm less worried about defensive tackles and more worried about defense that tackles.
I'm speaking about the tier of McCaffrey, Barkley, Jeanty, Henry, Bijon, Love, Gibbs, etc. caliber players. What is your definition of an uber talented RB in this offense? The running back position has been one of our most productive groups in the past few years, with Wright, sampson, and bishop all running for 1000+ yds in the past 3 years - including sampson putting up almost 1500 in 2024. and bishop tied at #6 for touchdowns this year (with 2 other running backs who added 7 each) Who do you have in mind that would do any better? I would argue that Bishop is an uber talented RB.
That’s incorrect. We don’t have a Sampson or wright, and our defense will be completely new, which I love. I’m just saying i would be more surprised to be good than to struggle next year .
I wouldn't count on it, comparing athletic ability with brute force strength and stamina needed from interior D linemen are completely different. Most young D Linemen don't even learn real form, leverage and situational technique until they get to the college level.Defense cant tackle if the line dont slow them down. Who knows though, maybe itll he like Wide Receiver lats year.
I guess i can agree with you there. We certainly do not have the level of RBs that Saban was recruiting for some of his years at Alabama, but I would say that our RB classes are generally improving from the years of Pruitt, Jones, Dooley, etc. And I believe that there is not a transfer that would marginally outshine Bishop at this point.I'm speaking about the tier of McCaffrey, Barkley, Jeanty, Henry, Bijon, Love, Gibbs, etc. caliber players.
Sampson, Wright, and Bishop are all very good players and talented. I want to give them credit for being beasts. Btw I even thought Star was underrated this year
I don' think there is a transfer prospect that is at that elite level. My comments are more on that we seem to miss at the finish line on the top HS prospects.
I really don’t get why we often miss on top shelf rb’s. Heupel’s offense emphasizes the run albeit by spreading the field but c’mon, stats dude…statsI guess i can agree with you there. Either way - I am hopeful that Bishop has a breakout season, and really puts up some insane numbers by himself now that there is not a three-headed beast with Star and Lewis in the rotation. Additionally, he can hopefully take a lot of the stress off the QB since theres always a threat that he could take one to the house.
