Before and after his hiring. We added 7 db in 26 class and 7 more in the portal. Facts are facts, agenda based opinions not so much.

So you agree all the evidence pointed to us not having a solid DB room. And two coaches both agreed after the fact. Seems like you're agreeing with me.

There is no agenda here, I'm using facts to form an opinion.

I am saying dang few of the players both DB Coaches had would not see the field this year. The one that would was a freshman on a learning curve. The 2 CB’s that played half a game between them would have changed the whole backend for safeties and even our LB with extra drops. 14 additions is telling. The draft CAN define coaching as well.

Now, it is possible the heavy portal haul was a result of HS class not being fits for the new schemes. BUT…..

We need another BIG body at DT (6'2-6'3" ~335 please) that can take on blocks so this newly minted (elite..?) LB group can get to work. We've got some young guys that fit the profile but would like to see us add another 1 or 2 older DT's. House & Campbell are hovering around 310, but 335 and 310 are very different.

My point was that this wasn't just because the coach (Banks) sucked. He went into the season heavily dependent on true freshmen for depth and young players virtually everywhere else.

My first post was about DT and not getting another large body
Someone mentioned having a couple of young freshmen pushing 300+ #'s. I made the connection that depending on young players is what got us into the DB situation we did this past season, and why we completely flipped the DB room.

Basically I was warning against depending on young players to step up, especially in the trenches.
