I get it. You have to have one, I think. But in reality if we are down to playing a third string guy, we don’t have a chance regardless (think playing Merklinger this year). Seems like they are fine with rolling with Gmac or Faizon as the #1 guy.In all seriousness…we have to at least sign a 3rd string…what are we doing![]()
All positions are open. He could be CB1 for all we know. Let them battle it out for starting spots. Oregon letting their fans down easy before he becomes a Vol.Oregon mod claiming that Aaron Scott would be their CB4 at best
Really need to sell him on the idea that he’d be CB3 here and connection with Knowles
We have plenty of Mathis types. Has been stated a few times Knowles wants some bigger guys to complement what we have. We don’t need Tier 1 players we have some of those potentially we just need solid depth now. Plenty of them out there and likely more will hit the portal before the end of the day.I am genuinely curious what our plan for DL is. I found it odd that we didnt bring any more DT in after Mathis and the guy that went to MSU, but now that Mathis is going to Auburn its even more perplexing. Do we really feel that good about what we have now?
They seem to hyper focus on a handful of guys and assume they're going to get them. They need to cast a wider net.I am genuinely curious what our plan for DL is. You're telling me that he has had no coaching on getting your head around all the way back to middle school. He was open and not ready, a concept hammered from the time before you could dress yourself.hadnt been coached man. what you want him to do? lol.
they put him in a bad situation.
Like the quote from Tom Moore when Gruden ask him why the Colts backup QBs don't get more reps with the 1's. "If 18 goes down, we're F*****, and we don't practice F*****."If you are down to your 3rd QB you aren't going to have a successful season so might as well shore up the rest places that need/use depth.
Let's face it, unless Peyton Manning is our 3rd string QB and we have to go with #3 we're screwed anyway you look at it. Let's not plan for screwed.Agree and disagree.
It was insane going into last year with 6-7 WRs. Not because they didn’t have talent, but because injuries happen. We got lucky and the starters stayed healthy or we would have had TE’s playing receiver for a bit. So it worked out.
Same with QB this year. Gmac and Faizon are super talented and I’m not worried about them. But injuries happen especially to smaller and younger players. And then we’re running the triple option to try to win. Lol
It’s a huge gamble and with a coaching and roster value at around $50 million, that’s a big gamble when you have already begged for booster funds and increased ticket prices through the roof. If the gamble doesn’t work, that’s some jobs lost.
We will no doubt have a 3rd scholly QB but it ain't gonna be Josh Allen. Check out other team's back ups. Nobody has three starter quality QBs, we have two which is better than most teams. I think the staff understand that.Yeah I don't like the "gambling" aspect of it.... feels like taking unnecessary risks when you simply don't have to (for the record, I'm pretty confident we'll bring in a 3rd QB for depth purposes)
