DefenseThe QB recruitment is the most head scratching one. I’ve said for about a week now that I’m fine with GMac or Faizon, I just want a 3rd body. And I would have thought the staff would think something similar, especially knowing Ty was a long shot and they may fall short with Leavitt. But unless something drops in the next 18 hours, it appears they’ve had zero interest in QB recruiting. That’s either on purpose—which I doubt—or they put all their eggs in one basket without diversifying, which is really dumb.
I’ve been happy with the defensive side of things. But offensively, I’d be lying if I said I was confident going into this season.
leave it to tennessee to wait into the last game of the year for two teams players to enter the porthole, and end up with....a g5 playerShot in dark here, could it be we are waiting on a QB from either Oregon or Ole Miss? The both get until 21st to jump in. Will Raiola stay, now Moore is coming back? If not he's likely the headed to Miami.

Miami Making Aggressive Late Transfer Portal Push at QB: Report
With the transfer portal window closing, and needing to replace Carson Beck, Miami is said to be making risky moves to land next QB.share.google
That's exactly what happened. And it was intentional.Yikes…it certainly seems like the staff put all their eggs in one basket with the qb situation and came up empty
the qb thing doesn't bother be as much as what I perceive as lacking aggressiveness for remaining spots. you have to pay... if you want to win. and that means cb and dt.That's exactly what happened. And it was intentional.
Folks don't seem to understand that this staff isn't out there desperate trying to get a QB thinking Mac or Brandon aren't going to be good enough. They swung for the cream of the crop (Sorsby, Leavitt, Simpson) because, if you can get them, great. But if you can't, there's no need to spend big for a QB on the next tier because they already have guys that good or better in Mac and Brandon. Further, the difference in those tier 1 guys and Mac/Brandon isn't great enough that it's worth it to spend $7M. We're already paying our own guys pretty well.
If we land a 3rd guy, he will be a body to provide depth. And if we don't, the walk-on will be that. Remember, in 2024, we went to the CFP with a RSFr at QB and a walk-on as his backup. Folks need to chill and let this thing play out. Our coaches aren't the rubes some of our fans make themj out to be.
If we don't add to those two positions, I will agree with you. But I think we will. The QB thing, I simply don't care. I'm fine with what we have.the qb thing doesn't bother be as much as what I perceive as lacking aggressiveness for remaining spots. you have to pay... if you want to win. and that means cb and dt.
More concerned about the DTs. Way too light, and thin, thereStill no QB

The thing is though, we need another qb. It is malpractice to go into a season with your qb room looking like thisThat's exactly what happened. And it was intentional.

Seems to be the plan, and honestly I'm cool with it after Simpson went pro (should have never gotten my hopes up on that one). We've got two five stars hanging out, let's roll with them. Get a third fella purely for depth purposes and maybe we'll finally be one of those teams with a breakout young dude at QB.If you’re not going to get a starter @ QB, why rush who the 3rd guy is? Focus on other needs
