2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

Everyone knew Dante Moore was going pro, too. Projected #2 QB off the board, a Top 5 pick. However...

Point is...no, everyone did not know Simpson would declare, including Simpson himself. Was reported multiple times, he wanted to see his draft grade before he made any kind of decision.

Not true. It wasn’t a forgone conclusion that Moore would declare because of the Oregon $$$$ proposition which is a benefit that Lanning has over other schools.

Moore was in a position to come back and cash in over going to the draft and being able to cash in but go to a crap franchise.

That very well could happen next year, but he isn’t losing money in either scenario.

People had been reporting for a while now (before the portal opened) that Moore was favored to declare but it came down to the draft order / QB teams. Aka the Raiders/Jets.

I will be surprised when and if they sign a QB. We are dealing with Volnation information for the most part. Sure we have had QB visits and will get some more, but face it, if we can't read the coach's or staff's minds and see the game plan we have no clue. Trust the coach and staff.

There are probably 3 to 4 scenarios out there that no body knows except the staff. The picture for us changes daily for the Coach and Staff it maybe working out just as they planned it. Nobody knows for real about GMAC except for the fact he is not in the portal yet and not demanding money.

They maybe looking for a backup at this point. There is probably 1 hand full of people that know on Volnation that know but cannot say and they may only be 50% in knowledge of it all.
So what I’m hearing you say is.. shut down all speculation? Good luck! 😂

Yeah unless he snaps his leg in half this next year. Oregon has money but they don’t have 1st round QB draft pick guaranteed money.

And everyone knew his draft grade was first round. He just wanted it confirmed.
Ended just exactly as expected.
Maybe so. Regardless, right or wrong, IMO, they were waiting on Simpson...he was their #1; and, in that time, Sorsby signed with TT...which is what the OP was about.

And, IMO, thats not a negative thing. Is it risky, yes...may miss on the #1, and also miss on the second option while waiting. But, identifying who you want, and waiting on him, is a tale as old as recruiting. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it don't. Yes, we may have missed on Sorsby while waiting; but, our backup plan to our backup plan was Leavitt. My point is: the original post, and other posts, I was replying to were about having no plan or being "unorganized", and that's just not true...at all.

Oh no, the “he could hurt playing football” hypothetical….. he’s insured. And once again, we are in an age where guys are making millions in college. This isn’t the days of old.

He’s still making life changing money regardless if he trips and gets his leg cut off in a train accident.

The financial risks of not declaring for the top players in draft classes are not as severe as say 10 years ago

I don’t think they didn’t have a plan or we’re unorganized.

I think the plan was a bad one, 1,2 and 3.
