2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

If you tell anyone, Ill write a letter.

In N Fork 20 Inches is pretty common.
……..I’ve got polaroids somewhere of me holding smallies I didn’t fully appreciate until years later. We released every fish we caught because of the mercury warnings. We caught monsters lol. Some of the best memories of my life. 40 years ago and in a football recruiting forum so this ain’t no spot burn but I’ll prolly pull this post in a bit cause fishing guys can be crazy.

edit, @TheBigOne10 I imagine throwing a popper to the upstream side of those islands in April would have been some kind of fun back then.

edited the location to respect the guys still fishing it

When I was a kid, middle school age, dad and I would seine minnows from little creeks around indian springs. He would get me up before daylight and we would carry a jon boat down and put in at the park under the bridge where the north and south fork come together, on the north side. Springtime and I got to skip the first few classes of school. We would cast three hook floating rapalas to the small islands and caught them on top at daylight. We used a trolling motor to move around those islands. And then after the sun was up we’d anchor and float those big hornyhead creek chubs under floats, or sometimes crawdads. Fished there as a kid and still fishing there today in my 50's

As I said yesterday, I believe Sorsby was #2 want behind Simpson; and, by the time Simpson had chosen to go pro, Sorsby had already signed with TT.

Basilio and the skidmarks that hang on his every word, will spin that into a negative whenever it's really not. "We moved too slow". Well, we were waiting for word on our #1 target, so...yeah. We were going to do whatever we had to do, that helped us land Simpson if he decided to stay in college...including waiting on him.
How is not a negative? They waited on a guy that was almost certainly going pro
And and let their #2 sign elsewhere without even trying?

I don’t think they would ever outbid TT and land Sorsby, but if he was really their number 2, then it was dumb to wait on Simpson to decide what everyone new he was going to do already.
At least they knew Sorsby would be playing college ball somewhere.

i've broken a fly rod fishing woolhead sculpins there at longs island. i'm a red neck fly fisherman, don't carry scales, nets, or boga. his mouth was three knuckles wide, and 'plum' down to my st croix fighting butt. i'd say easily 4 lbs. people can't appreciate the sheer volume of water in that area. it really is a dangerous place to fish.

next best spot is christian's bend.

I will be surprised when and if they sign a QB. We are dealing with Volnation information for the most part. Sure we have had QB visits and will get some more, but face it, if we can't read the coach's or staff's minds and see the game plan we have no clue. Trust the coach and staff.

There are probably 3 to 4 scenarios out there that no body knows except the staff. The picture for us changes daily for the Coach and Staff it maybe working out just as they planned it. Nobody knows for real about GMAC except for the fact he is not in the portal yet and not demanding money.

They maybe looking for a backup at this point. There is probably 1 hand full of people that know on Volnation that know but cannot say and they may only be 50% in knowledge of it all.
