Swing and a miss is not the same as no plan. It's clear things haven't worked as they hoped. It is not clear that they "had no plan" and kinda silly to say that. This is all I was saying fwiw. End result could still be great, but pretending we didn't swing and miss on all of our original planned targets is plainly false.
Correct, I agree. I never meant to insinuate they had no plan. That's 100% silly. Also just as silly to think all these misses were a part of some elaborate plan. Which some posters apparently do.Swing and a miss is not the same as no plan. It's clear things haven't worked as they hoped. It is not clear that they "had no plan" and kinda silly to say that.
I mean it is kind of a ****** thing to do, but with that being said the kid was conned by Deion, so it's no less than "Coach Prime" deserves.I don't understand why they can't believe it. These kids were good a bill of goods, that year in particular, that Deion hasn't been able to deliver on. Good players want to play with other good players and compete.
Exactly. We turned ourselves in. The really target was Fulmer, Pruitt was colateral damage. We're on probation because we reported it and complied because we wanted cause to fire Pruitt.
Everyone else who's told the NCAA to kick rocks and done much more egregious stuff got off easy. Because they didn't cooperate and turn everything over to the NCAA and beg for leniency. The NCAA only has as much power as you give them.
It can and has been argued we should not have complied and simply fired Pruitt. We'd have been much better off paying his buyout, would have been less costly to the program.
Wouldn't surprise me at all. And even to the extent there remain better options, you gotta decide what your willing to spend for decreasing marginal improvement. GMac will be better than he was and FB is likely even better given a bit of time. Still need depth, but that need not cost big millions.

Maybe, they may have been making offers with big bucks WITH contingencies for game availability. He could use the dollars in his discussions with others omitting the other news. We may have been playing chess while Kiffy was playing checkers. Just don’t think we were really going to spend in excess of 5 really big ones for a QB with a suspect wheel who could not practice till fall with the two young arms in the room .this. Although they viewed Leavitt as a talent that was worth spending big.
Agree, although I really like Brungard too. I'd take either. Johnny Manziel and Diego Pavia did quite well as QBs in the SEC below 6'.I don't think anyone is an idiot. I think people are worked up and throwing names at the wall hoping one sticks.
If at all helpful, I think the two most viable FCS options are Walter Payton Award winner Beau Brungard and runner up Taron Dickens. Dickens is in the portal and available right now. Brungard has committed to returning to Youngstown State and the timeline to lure him into the portal is tight, so I would lean toward Dickens.
On Dickens, I think everyone is on board with his accuracy and stats and leadership. The hangup has been his size. My general response to that is he's around the same size as Kyler Murray. You're recruiting the individual, not the averages at the position. If the staff feels he can be a solid addition, you roll with it and see how he does. At worst, you get an experienced backup for a year.
I like the running list. I think we only take one more DL. Would love two thoughAdded the special teamers.
