It’s not my money but if we pay 6-7 million and get Leavitt the pressure on Heupel to get in the playoffs next season will be immense. He better win big or it will get UGLY. Seems like the biggest gamble during my long time as a fan. We also have no idea what is real or make believe because everyone has an agenda and there’s no transparency. I am ready for the BaseVols to start playing.

I never said he wouldn’t have any pressure. It will be exponentially greater if they spend $6-7 million for Leavitt. Roll with one of the youngsters and expectations will be much more muted.

I think, going forward, we really need to adjust how we recruit HS players. It seems there is zero point in recruiting guys that can't come in and be immediate help. Look at all the guys we were so excited to get that have hit the portal for a payday somewhere else. Guys don't want to sit and wait anymore. That being the case, if we aren't willing to play them early, why bring them in? Let them go somewhere else then recruit them later from the portal. Until some form of regulation is put into place, that seems the way to go. Save the money for the portal and players who will actually play.

I absolutely hate to even put this into existence, but it seems like Deion was right when he explained his limited high school recruiting and emphasis on portal approach a couple of years back.

The guy still sucks, but I think that’s the direction a lot of schools are going to move in.
