When we hired Knowles, there was a lot of talk about how his system takes time to implement, sometimes years. Very happy we’re pulling in a mix of experienced leaders and talented young guys, all who have a year under their belt with him. If those guys come in ready to set the tone and our current group is willing to learn and mesh, we have a very high ceiling. Top to bottom, this is shaping up to be the most talented defensive depth chart we’ve had in a decade or more.

Metcalf is who they wanted and I think he wraps up S. Will take another CB, maybe 2 JK definitely likes hybrid CB/S types who he sees as multiple both for depth but also for scheming purposes.

You will see a lot more movement up front as well, there are times he will line up ends inside, while there are actually some similarities to Banks scheme this is one area where there will be big difference

Hopefully the Haslams are starting to bank roll us. Thats literally the only way we are going to be competitive in the portal. If Cody Campbell, Mark Cuban and Phil Knight are bank rolling teams we need the same. Plus i’m sure its a way to say f u to the other billionaires for them.

I think Eric will confirm that there is zero information coming out on possible portal QBs in the last week. As for Joey, I’ve heard lots of opinions about whether he would or wouldn’t come back. After hearing that there will be a ruling on the injunction Monday, I think there’s a better chance than I would’ve given a week ago. Heupel isn’t going to whiff on QBs.

We came up with a pretty decent qb last year late in the portal season.

I don't think there is any reason to be sour about him. He didn't bail. You can't blame him for wanting to play his preferred position. He could play LT at a lot of good schools. We just happen to have David Sanders. Not his fault.

The momentum of sweeping the PSU guys and the numbers starting to shrink put Vols in good spot. Will really see them blitz DT position putting pressure on guys to get there viait scheduled & commit or miss out on your spot. This is especially those who aren't just deciding based on payday.

Told due to ND & OSU struggles, staff expects Brewu to get bigger offer from one or both. They do like him in Knowles system especially as a pass rushing DL. From a ceiling standpoint they are highest on A&M DT. Want to land at least one of the big body type guys
