If I were the betting sort, I'd take you up on that. Lane played 290 snaps last season as the third safety. Unless you think one of the incoming freshmen is going to pass up Farooq, he would likely be said third safety.I’ll bet $500 that boy don’t see the field next season unless we’re up 35 in the 4th.
Would be no reason to bring in Lane and Metcalf.

Additionally, at any point in five seasons, did you get the feeling that Banks and staff developed a safety? Actual coaching, especially from a College Hall of Fame safety, may work wonders with Farooq.
I'm not going to convince you of anything of course. That's up to Edrees Farooq to do next season. I'm just not as quick to write him off.
Multiple players and coaches who know the system. We are cookinWhen we hired Knowles, there was a lot of talk about how his system takes time to implement, sometimes years. Very happy we’re pulling in a mix of experienced leaders and talented young guys, all who have a year under their belt with him. If those guys come in ready to set the tone and our current group is willing to learn and mesh, we have a very high ceiling. Top to bottom, this is shaping up to be the most talented defensive depth chart we’ve had in a decade or more.
