2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

Heuepel is getting the right guys in. He is serious about improving roster.
Any coach is serious about improving their roster ….duh

Heupel is getting the guys in he believes are right………….is a more accurate statement.

We’re coming off an 8-5 season.
I’m sure what you said above has been true for the last 4 years.

His approach on passing big time difference maker’s because of fit or whatever has had mixed results.

Kansas safety set to visit Tennessee on Tuesday

Tennessee football will host another transfer portal safety this week as former Kansas Jayhawk Lyrik Rawls is set to be on campus for a Tuesday check-in, the prospect confirmed to Volquest on Monday.

Rawls began his career at Oklahoma State where he redshirted in 2021 and played in 27 games before transferring to Kansas ahead of the 2025 campaign. The safety will have one year of eligibility remaining.

This past fall, Rawls was second on the Kansas defense with 73 tackles. He logged one tackle for loss, one interception and seven pass-breakups. The safety recorded 24, 20 and 23 tackles – respectively – in the 2022, 2023 and 2024 seasons playing in Stillwater while registering an interception in both 2023 and 2024. For his career, Rawls has logged 140 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, one sack and three interceptions.

Rawls was recruited by Jim Knowles when he signed with Oklahoma State in 2021. He started the first three games of 2023 before missing the rest of the year to injury.

This past season for the Jayhawks, Rawls notched a career-high 632 snaps with a Pro football Focus grade of 70.1. In coverage, Rawls was targeted 31 times and he gave up 20 receptions for 234 yards across 319 coverage snaps. He did not allow a touchdown. For his career, Rawls has allowed one touchdown, on 28 receptions for 421 yards on 48 targets.

Rawls stands in at 6-foot-1 and weighs 205 pounds. The safety was a three-star rated prospect out of Marshall High School (TX) for the Class of 2021.

Tennessee is hosting Penn State defensive tackle Xavier Gilliam, North Carolina linebacker Khmori House, Penn State edge Chaz Coleman and Delaware offensive tackle Anwar O’neal on Monday. The Vols are scheduled to host Miami (OH) LEO Adam Trick and Wake Forest defensive tackle Mateen Ibirogba via the transfer portal this week. Former Kansas defensive back Qua Moss committed to Tennessee on Sunday. Tennessee has also already hosted Troy cornerback Jaquez White and LSU offensive tackle Ory Williams.

Fans bemoaning the lack of loyalty by players, then bashing kids like Telander and Bishop has always been an interesting approach in my opinion.
when you watch Telander play why do you want him playing all the snaps for your fav team?

trust me its not personal. They could just do better.

I somehow missed Heupel is in MARTIN today???
Yup, he was there “visiting” a 3 star cb who only has 6 offers and next best offer is purdue, while we have a ton of portal prospects on campus. I really hope he was there doing what we all think he’s doing there because the math isnt mathing of him being there just for a 3 star while we have a lot other more important matters on campus

If the VQ subscriber base dedicated that 9.95 each moth to the Vol Club instead, our NIL would be massive and the VQ subscribers wouldn’t be any less informed.

No one’s nil is make or break based on what the average fan gives. It’s all about the people around the program who’s abused the system the best and has absurds amount of money. How serious are they about wanting the program to win championships.
