2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

Still expect to have a nice haul from former PSU guys. They beleive Chaz is 2 team race, and contact acknowledges LSU will likely be willing to pay more but they still feel chances are 50/50. Beleive they have Gilliam and that some of the secondary guys will be here in the end.

Amare Campbell will be visiting later this week, possibly Wednesday. Sounds like he was in situation where the new staff low balled his NIL in part because the new PSU coaches believe they will have 2 LBs coming in (1 from ISU & 1 from USC). Have had talks with hus rep & sounds like the NIL they are seeking is reasonable & fits VOLS eval.

They would prefer him over House mainly because of having 1 year in Knowles system, but also feel he avoids/sheds blocks better.

Unless he steps down in comp for the right NIL deal, he expects Dakari Nelson will come in as a cheap depth piece. Said he is an outstanding special teams player and great practice player, while being capable backup if injury hits.

Also for former OSU CBs, Bryce West, would be target over Scott, but UT has had talks with both. Scott is visiting Oklahoma and Michigan seems to have high interest also.

Sounds like market is still being set on CBs and is also a position where boards differ much more than many positions. AJ Harris is definitely disappointed in where NIL is coming in at from teams, in part due to him having a rough season. Sounds like West team is still evaluating market or waiting to see if that one school comes in with offer well above the others.

He did day that AJ Harris is #3 on their board of CBs they are actively persuing. Didn't name #1 & 2, but have to assume that White may be their CB1 or at least CB2 on their board. They feel good about closing him today and ultimately still feel like Harris will land at UT

Time to get some commits!!!!

Perry isn't a feature back. But I feel like folks aren't giving him a fair shake. He has been impressive for UL the last couple of years.
I agree. He’s certainly not anyone’s #1 choice, but I also remember a lot of people weren’t impressed by Star Thomas when he transferred here. I think we could do way worse than Perry, even though I’d certainly have preferred Smothers.

People need to start being honest with themselves. The only way we see a top RB in this system is if we win the DGG sweepstakes in the next recruiting class. We're not going to spend to get one from the portal.

But we have the money to pay a trash 5 star in basketball 4 million?
Another example of why it’s important to be smart with the $NIL. Swing big and the recruit doesn’t perform as expected or gets injured then your left wanting. Sign quality depth and you have options. Guess everyone has differing opinions on which strategy is best.

why would we? he has a starting spot at bama, no way he leaves
I don't think he does. Bama seems determined to start Russell and if they don't, I think Russell leaves. Much like Nico, there was likely an understanding when he committed that the starting gig would be his after his freshman year.

Would love the White pickup at CB. Also believing we get one of the OSUs CBs.

Personally I would just save the money. I think baker can give you just as much production as Perry will in this league. My 2 cents though

Friday the attorneys for the case involving Joey received a list of preliminary questions that indicated a high likelihood of a favorable ruling. Read that as you will. Courts are very cautious now about “lost wages liability” and endless appeals. Staff starting to think it will break our way.

Wow. I mean if Chambliss was to get a 6th year, I can’t imagine they’d deny Joey. This would be great news, although part of me would have liked to see what Ty Simpson could look like in this offense.
