2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

They haven’t even started to fall imo. We were never going to pay 4mil+ for someone this year. Look for a 1.5-2 range guy expected to push GMAC or possibly even win the job. I don’t think we go for a clear/premier starter. Just doesn’t make sense with what’s invested in gmac and Brandon.
I think we'd pay 3 for a legit starter. That's my sense from listening to VQ before the sweepstakes got really heated up.

IDK, they want to win now. If getting a premier QB is needed, I think they'll do not, within reason. I don't think they'd pay $4m+ for a hobbled QB who is gonna miss spring again.

I like moss over Byard but I’d take both if we could. I think there will be bigger players than trick more suited to Knowles identity on the DLine. Maybe Trick is the LEO he wants? We need more than just those but that would be one heckuva start to this portal haul.
The more safeties the merrier to me - if they can play.

I’ve seen it. I’m sure we’ve made contact with the top 10 QBs. I just don’t think we’ve made a serious run at any of them.

A few of those guys we tried with in April after the Nico saga. We probably were willing to pay well over market value then due to our circumstances. Aguilar falls in our lap and we ultimately get better value than we paid for. Now we’re back here again and these guys probably want even more than we offered then, when we’re in a better position with our own roster having another season under their belt, and a larger pool to choose from and more time to sort it out.

I just don’t see us throwing 4-7 mil at a QB when we are having to overhaul so much of the rest of our roster given the above.

More likely Heupel goes for a “value” veteran to compete with GMAC to run his qb friendly and fairly simplistic offense, relying on experience or his prior eval, and directs the majority of any funds we have towards accelerating the Knowles transition and revamping underperforming areas from this past year (S, CB, DT, DE) and areas deteriorated by the portal (LEO/Edge, OT, etc).
