Jeremias Heard is probably hitting the portal. Apparently he's told a few folks that he's going to.

The downside of taking “projects” in the portal age. They won’t stick around to be developed.

RB room is not good. If Plew leaves you have 3 true RBs and a high school QB we recruited as a slot guy who maybe could play RB. You def need another RB. And we will be getting one.

I'm not saying we don't have good RBs. I'm saying at best you have 4, two of them being very small 'backs. I feel like 5 is the minimum which is what we carried this year. Time will tell. Feel pretty confident though.

Not sure of this kid's ability...stats look good...but this is the size profile I'd like to see us looking at for the Safety position. Not these sub-6' kid's who weigh 170 lbs. Joel Wyatt, while rather raw, is a good start in that area. This kid would be another.

I would be astounded if we don't add a RB in the portal. The RB group was super mediocre this year and banking on Morris or Baker to be SEC caliber backs is foolish.

Bishop was solid. Not great, but very solid. No one else is returning that seems like a starting caliber RB.

There is zero chance anyone watched this group of RBs play this year and thought it was a major strength for us.

Adding to this, I'm not sure Bey should even be counted in this class at this point. We might grab 2 RBs.

5th in SEC in total rushing yards with 983, the top 3 RBs all had 220 or more carries, Bishop just 163.
4th in SEC in yards per carry with 6.0
3rd in SEC in rushing TDS with 14, both RBs with more had at least 240 carries.

I do think we need to upgrade the RB room...but Bishop isn't why.

I think we are good at running back, our DE group is good as is. Would take 2 corners. Complete agree with the rest.

Portal RB is not a drastic need. We could roll with the 4 guys we have plus Bey and be fine.

I think adding somebody like Jaden Baugh from FL and pair him with Bishop to form a 1A/1B situation would be huge. This is the first year we won't rush for 2500 yards so we can improve in that area. Plus I'm approaching the RB portal situation like we rolling with the young boys at QB. A dominate run game is a young QB best friend. But I wouldnt take a body to just take a body in that scenario.

If someone leaves, then I do think we have to take a portal RB for depth purposes at a minimum.

AP specifically mentioned Ginther and J. Heard as possible/likely portal guys on today's pod. Then talked about how Beasley got more run at the end of the year and how that might get him to think more about staying...

I didn't say Bishop was bad or mediocre. I said he was solid but he lacked SEC speed, which is true and it's part of the reason he didn't have any P4 offers.

I certainly want to keep Bishop but we also need to go back to the 3 headed monster at RB like we had with Wright, Sampson, and Small. Right now, it's a 1 headed monster.
