2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

Every time I see a CB hitting the portal I think "come to Tennessee to be a first round draft pick". Crazy to think we're going to have that as a selling point with McCoy and Hood projected as first round picks.
It's amazing how about 100-120 players are "projected first round picks" every year, yet only 32 actually are.

Not bad for a back end of the rotation guy but we need at least 1 first rotation and 1 second rotation caliber guy I'd think.

Farooq is athletic and fast but my God he is the worst tackler we have had on defense in years. He must get better or be replaced.

On Facebook. 🤷‍♂️
“Tennessee coaches are in Lexington meeting with UK QB Cutter Boley.” 👀
Lol...
1. If it's on FB, ignore it.
2. Tennessee doesn't need Cutter Boley.
3. Coaches meeting with a current player from another team who hasn't entered the portal (which isn't open, yet) is like the one major way to get in trouble in the NIL/Transfer era.

DE: Transfer / Weathersby
NT: Transfer / Robinson
DT: Hobbs / Utley
Leo: Herring / Ross

WLB: Carter
MLB: Telander
SLB: Spillman
(If Carter goes Pro then Perlotte or Harmon can take his spot. I don’t think we need to waste time at LB, especially with White and Rouse coming in)

CB: Transfer
Safety: Farooq
Safety: Transfer
CB: Redmond

Okay I lied @Sandman Vol
No gibson? No transfer NT?

Even though Aguilar has done a terrific job, next season it should be the young guns turn to shine. GM will be stronger and ready to go and if Brandon is ready to play as some of you say ... Then the QB room is good to go...
I don't see GMac nor Faizon starting next year. I'll be absolutely shocked if either JA doesn't return as our starting QB or we grab a 1 year stop gap, then let GMac and Faizon battle it out in 27. I'd personally love to see Leavitt, but think he's a pipe dream. He'd be a perfect fit for Heupel's offense and is mobile. Not sure Heupel puts next season in the hands of a RS or True FR, especially the way this season ended. Even worse if we lose a bowl game and end up 8-5. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

I agree, but you and I both know he’s going to be starting next season.
Which is a bit of an indictment on our coaches. I know plenty of long term Vol supporters and none of them think Telander is worthy to start at UT. Guess the coaches see something other than results on the field that we don’t see.

Nice young man from all accounts but just not talented enough (physically or instinctively) to play at this level, except perhaps as a backup.
