Brien Taylor from UF hit the portal

Played alot last yr 6’5 295lb. Would be a 1 yr guy i think. Another experienced player and we need them. I remember he visited us when he was getting recruited.

This is a guess, but it wouldn't surprise me if all the statements about us "tampering" with guys after Nico left bothered the hell out of DW. It's bad press. And I could see it making him take more control. Especially given what we know about his desire for secrecy.

I would guess the bad press is what bothered him moreso than the tampering.

The goal is likely to do both. Tamper and Danny never hears anything about it. If it ends up in the news I’m sure that does bother him. His job is to protect our good standing.

He’s doing what he can to give us a chance.

You would think, yet here’s Dampier deciding to stay at a school he has no ties to with a brand new coach. I need someone to explain to me like I’m 5yrs old why no good experienced transfer qb wants to come here.

Well they have this thing called practice. The said objective of this activity for the player is to hone one's skill and get repeated feedback and reinforcement. The said objective for the coaches is to teach, train, and evaluate for prospective starters
In short, HE THROWS THE BALL EVERYDAY IN FREAKIN' PRACTICE.

Yeah I don’t get that one. If I was Heupel I would have slept in a sleeping bag next to his window last night until he agreed to visit.

He's hoping for the same thing as Joey Aguilar. Trying to get an additional year of eligibility despite two years at a JUCO and two at Florida. Nice talent, but probably not a great gamble until the needs are all filled. Then you can swing back to that if a blanket waiver gets granted.

Ok guys you all have convinced me. Im gonna break out my P5 controller and upgrade my body and skills and be the next QB under JH that throws over 3000 yards and gets us to the playoffs. I know the playbook. I know the rabid fanbase. And im cheap. Oh wait i like cheap chicks.

The "new coach" was on staff and the coach in waiting, so that situation is a bit different than some of the others.

The coaches obviously thinks he slings it so well that he was 3rd string behind a qb that was never going to start here.

One of my concerns with Heup after the season was sense of urgency and if he would make the necessary changes. He certainly did that with the defensive staff firings/hirings.

He’s also done that with the defensive portal haul so far. It’d really be a shame if we did so much good but couldn’t get a solution to the most important position on the field for next year.

I don’t know how much the rumors are true that we aren’t tampering due to the NCAA stuff. But if we are being conservative, and you’re Heup, you almost have to do what you have to do for your job and teams sake. Even if that means going behind your AD to get it done.

Again, that’s hypothetical, but I hope he continues to show urgency and gets it done.

Nobody has to tamper----just call ESPN today and tell them to let everyone know that UT may not win 3 games next year because they don't have a starting OB and they'll be toast next year if they can't find one---done deal
