It was all about the money.
Glad the kid got paid. Happier that we didn’t pay.
After his performance in the MCB I don’t think a raise was in his future with the Vols.
Agree as well. It's hard to fathom that one of our young 5 stars can't operate at a level above Nico. Nico was simply terrible in his year as a starter. Had arm talent but literally nothing else. Couldn't process, anticipate, inaccurate and the offense had to literally be dumbed down to a high school level for him to function. I simply find it hard to believe that a more experienced guy from a smaller school or one of our youngsters that we are paying significant can't run Heupels offense. We need to improve our defense immensely or it doesn't matter who we have at quarterback. Joey was an afterthought and he was an upgrade for half the price. Trinidad Chambliss was simply a depth piece for Ole Piss a year ago. We can buy a lot of defensive studs for 2-3 million.Totally agree - but 2 things
That means you spent QB money (2+ of the 3+) on Coleman or someone better...who?
You still need a portal QB for depth. A cheap one with experience. (Whatever is left of the 3.5)...who?
Taron Dickens is my choice. His best offer is Syracuse.
Yeah, I don't think anybody is saying we don't need a quarterback, I think the question is what route do we go. Blow the bank an a top rated guy or try and find an experienced more affordable option from a smaller school. If Joey can't come back, I prefer the more affordable option and putting more resources in other positions. Heupel and company obviously have more information than us and will ultimately make a decision.Eric is saying that - the question currently is how far along the sweepstakes scale is the guy we pick?
No I am not sure. I said both things aren't clear and called the 2nd one a rumor while expressing UT skepticism. You sure about that? Hmmm
Watched him play several games in the playoffs. Really good and would fit Heupel's offense well. Sign him up.Good call
