This isn't what you pay me for, but I will share that the NCAA monolith (including ESPN/Disney and the big conferences) is flipping out over this year's portal catastrophe. This will be the last year of the Wild West. When Ball St. loses a single RB to the portal to Notre Dame, no one sweats. When Bama and PSU lose their entire defense in one portal window and Texas Tech spends 35mm stacking up 105 mercenaries, there is a problem. Conference heads are on the phone trying to stop the nightmare this year. They can't. Rest assured that there is not a world where it keeps going on this way next year. The collective nausea we're feeling is happening all over. Look for this UW/LSU lawsuit to have a lot of political power behind it as an example.
I'll get a read on how we're doing with various targets later today, but wanted to share that all the superpowers are on the horn shouting about the upside down world. They don't want Yosemite Sam buying Lubbock a new trophy every year, and they don't want an arms race either. The integrity of the sport can't handle this mess while still drawing the same level of interest. They'll do something next off season.
