It does not sound like Geno is talking about the loss to CKC's Tennessee last season at all. Bueckers would not have considered transferring after that loss in her final season of eligibility.

Most likely, Geno is talking about their Final four loss to Arizona during PB's freshman season. I believe that was their first loss of the season (and they beat Kellie's LVs that season as well)

Why is everyone assuming that out of the Pauldos, Nya, Hurst, Prawl and the rest that we won't average at least as high a 3 pt percentage as last year?

We could still end up shooting a higher percentage than last year even if none of the new players pan out to be deadeyes simply because there are more players who are decent at it and teams can't key on any one of them. Kim has kind of hinted at us not being great at shooting the three, but she is hard to please and it may be coach speak to some extent.

Is this an AI response? Just curious. 🥹😂

I assumed it because we lost some really good shooters and didn’t seem to bring in anyone with that same type of percentages. Even Spencer improved tremendously here. Nya is a career 35% shooter overall but like spencer not being the #1 option could def benefit her. The others haven’t been great 3% shooters from what I could remember but they’ve been putting in work and hope it continues!

I'm not sure that I'd adjust my prediction all that much after game one. 22-6 still seems reasonable to me.

I feel like most the issues with our press will be fixed before the next big game, and the issues seem more mental than physical. [e.g. even tho we made a really unfortunate mistake in contain on the game-winning 78-77 bucket (Cooper was the last girl back, standing around the 3-point line, and let Pierre run by her) we were still athletic enough (Barker) to get down the court and force her to make the well-contested shot to take the lead, and not a trivial layup like last year's team may hav given up in the same circumstances in letting a girl run by all 5 of us before the inbound pass]

The ceiling for the press this year aught to still be much higher than last year's team, once the understanding of what we're trying to do matches our athleticism in doing it.

I still think 19 and 9 is the season record. We should beat Indiana State probably can win that one shooting 35 percent we'll see. Then Florida comes in and we go to Auburn so a 2 and 0 SEC start seems possible. That puts you at 10 and 3 so we would need to play 9 and 6 the rest of the way We would have seven home games so say we win six of those puts you at 16 still need three road wins and where to get those will be the problem our road schedule is daunting. 18 were probably ok for the NCAA. 17 would put us in scary territory.

Going to need to get nine of ten home wins coming up Indiana St and Florida win those two then would mean beating some really good teams as we have Kentucky, Texas, Vanderbilt, and Miss St as the headliners. Winning three of them looks tough. The others Missouri, Arkansas, and Texas A&M. We have to win six of that seven cause the road is really tough.

Road will be tough to get any wins going to LSU, SC, Ole Miss, Miss St, Vanderbilt, Georgia, and Alabama. Georgia and Miss St look to be the top chances to win. Vandy and Bama next. LSU and Sc looks like no chance. Ole Miss 50/50.

That Kentucky team beat this Louisville team that just blew us out. Going to be interesting.

Kenny Brooks knows how to beat Kim’s system. He’s out coached her twice and both were blowouts. Once when he was still at VA tech and then last year at Kentucky. Unfortunately, he will most likely blow us out again at home. And I don’t like him as a coach, so that’s really frustrating lol
