Maybe Kiffin is an evil genius after all . Hes already made up his mind that he’s staying and is stringing both along to scare off guys like Sumrall. I think Sumrall might end up being a good one.thats the beauty of Kiffin dragging it out. its getting worse and worse for 2 SEC teams.
Jon Sumrall seems to be among the top choices so far. Auburn also has previous ties to Kenny Dillingham, but he's currently at his alma mater, and AZ State has a much easier path to the playoffs every year. I imagine it would take a substantial salary to make him move and I just don't know Auburn can do that given the buyouts they are already paying.Auburn does get forgotten in all of this. haven't really heard about who they are pursuing.

They'll kick the tires on Drinkwitz I'm sure. Maybe Clark Lea. But I would bet on Sumrall.
I do think it's easier to recruit at Auburn. But there are probably more expectations. As long as Drink keeps a floor of 7-5, Mizzu is gonna keep him around. That seems a lateral move to me.
Arkansas named Bobby Petrino the interim coach for the rest of the season. The decision gave the Razorbacks time to complete a full search while maintaining leadership through the final weeks.
According to the report, potential candidates include Iowa State coach Matt Campbell, South Florida head coach Alex Golesh, North Texas head coach Eric Morris, Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein and Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall.
Not if Arkansas decided to truly play the NIL game to the maximum given the companies and alumni-run companies in that area that could collectively allow them to take huge advantage of the third party NIL market (and willingness to be the gray area, I guess). They are sitting on a gold mine if they were ever able to organize to take advantage of it. Plus, their administration is normally one of the better ones in the country from a consistency standpoint (both good and bad). Someone like Matt Campbell (who I do not know personally, so assuming from watching him from afar) would likely be more likely to be attracted to Arkansas ("if" with committed resources) than the jobs he has supposedly turned down in the past from Michigan, Penn State, Florida State, USC, and even NFL jobs such as Detroit).See to me, Matt Campbell would be foolish to even entertain that job. Especially if schools like Auburn and Florida are still technically vacant.
They don’t HAVE that kind of money. They have boosters and alums with that kind of money who give them some money, but not as much as Texas boosters give. Could they? Maybe. But it’s not Arkansas‘s money until they do.Arkansas has almost Texas like $ if they decide to use it. It can be a great job.
He was talking about Drink to Auburn. The Barn is in a tough spot right now. Their system for success is outdated. You can't rely on the whims of one super booster to sustain success on the football field since the implementation of NIL and the portal.

Meh. Miz to Auburn is a slight bump.
Kinda like being promoted from toilet scrubber to window cleaner at McDonalds though.
Sure it's a bit higher up on the ladder, but it's still not good
Northwest Arkansas is a more affluent area and nicer place to live than most of the towns in the SEC though. I mean heck Baton Rouge is pretty run down and dirty but Louisiana’s in-state talent and the prestige of LSU’s program is what attracts recruits. I’m not sure any of that matters as much now with kids following the $$$ over everything else like what Texas Tech is doing. It's still Arkansas though at the end of the day.
Not exactly the dream destination of your typical 18 year old high school kid.
Even as a middle aged man I can't say that I disagree with them. The two most godforsaken states in this country are the two with "Kansas" in their name.
