2024 TRANSFER TRACKER

Watch Tennessee play Arkansas and Texas A&M the past two years… you just made one of the most ridiculous posts in awhile on VN. And of course, the few double posters and fanatics will agree.

Reality is, Alyssa Latham would beat out both to start at the 4 spot. So no, they wouldn’t start. Latham played with one of the best scorers in WBB history and was an impact player on both ends of the court at Syracuse.

She understood her role and played it to near perfection. An outstanding athlete with polished basketball skills.

Could they start over Lazaria Spearman and Jillian Hollingshead?

Hollingshead could do exactly what Dauda did at Arkansas as a starter.

That is a toss up. Barker is not a guarantee either until I see consistent play. Spearman and Dauda both play better defense than Barker, and out of the three Spearman is a more natural rebounder. It’s a toss up.

You can’t talk either Dauda or Barker into star players. They got to prove it and right now they haven’t got there yet. We’ll see.

Silly argument.
Any college coach will tell you recruiting is the lifeblood of a program. If you believe otherwise, why do you follow high school recruiting?
Some coaches under achieve (in terms of players not reaching their potential) while others (Barnes) are very good at getting their players to reach their potential. Even most of the top rated players won’t reach their full potential for 3/4 years which hurt Calipari with his one and done but Kentucky has the most players currently in the NBA.
Geno, Staley, etc. don’t take 3 star players and turn them into 5 star players. They take 5 high rated players and get them to play as a team and to their potential.
This is why I admire coaches who much more with less. If you get all 5 star players, of course you’re going to more than likely win.

#15 I usually just scroll on by these projections. Not too shabby for a somewhat overhauled roster..

The poll looks no worse than the SEC Prediction rankings posted days ago on Twitter by another page.
I assume this one particular poll is going to receive more scrutiny because it provides a better outlook for the LVs!
And it’s debatable who the best transfer is/will be which is a great sign and a credit to Coach Caldwell, Coach Tubner, and Coach Lazo recruiting in year one.
GBO🍊.

I have been trying to think of who KIM CALDWELL reminds me of since she came to MARSHALL. Someone else mentioned it first, so I can't take credit for it, but they mentioned that TENNESSEE had hired JENNIFER LAWRENCE as their new LADY VOLS BASKETBALL COACH. WOW!!! That is so true!!!! Kim is gorgeous and she has Lawrence's smile and look. Well, lets just hope she can coach!!!! HAHAHAHA! I'm in love.

They won last year and I gave my reasons why I think they won. Last year has nothing to do with this year, Was Kiki on USC last year? Was Rori Harmon healthy and playing for Texas, was Layla Phelia on Texas, Was Janiah Barker on UCLA. I didn’t list everyone but u get what I’m saying, last year has nothing to do with this year.
Last year has nothing to do with this year but just last year UCONN was picked preseason #2 and favorites to win a championship lol again the same is happening its very awkward they are not even top 3 right now if its this year that matters in my opinion. Still not enough post play lol

Who said Tennessee will finish 10th in the SEC?

How successful have any of the teams listed ahead of Tennessee in early predictions been against the Lady Vols in recent years?

Does the prediction to finish 10th in the SEC carry more weight than the poll that predicted Tennessee #15 in the preseason WBB Top 25 rankings???

If we do indeed finish 10th in the SEC , this board is going to be on fire LOL
It me because I don’t have any expectations, my entire focus is on the 2025 class and to see if we get a top class. To me that tells me if we're going to be successful or not going forward.

UConn doesn’t play in a tough enough league. They have the talent but they are not used to being challenged. When they get deep in the tournament anymore it shows. They have limited ability to play under duress in a tight game the last couple seasons.

Reality is powerful. I noticed the starting lineup for Tennessee vs Oklahoma in the picture below. Rickea Jackson was sidelined for this contest.

This group is returning as the core plus two redshirt players in addition to the portal signees by Coach Caldwell. Four P5 players with starter experience.

Tennessee won this game with a solid 2nd half performance against Oklahoma. I watched the replay yesterday.

Fast forward months later, and all of sudden this Oklahoma team with one - two key additions are supposedly projected as the # 4/5 team in the conference with a Top 10 preseason ranking and Tennessee with four key additions is projected as the #10 team in the conference?

You can’t make this stuff up. The Tennessee players, coaches, managers, etc just have to lock in and make this season all about taking care of business.

GBO🍊.

To be fair, we beat Okla early in the season last year mostly on a great game by Jasmine Powell, probably her best game, who will not be eligible this year. Okla was also without one of their best players that day.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but almost everyone who speculates has said the OU will be a much better team this year. IMO they are not overrated and have a good chance to be 4th in the SEC.

I'd be surprised if the LVs finish 10th, that's way too low. But I'd be equally surprised if they finish higher that 5th. And as I've said before it's very possible the LVs will be a better team than last year and still finish lower in the loaded SEC.

The last time I checked three players had great games against Oklahoma not just one.
And just because multiple people assume Oklahoma can finish as high as 4th does not make it valid.

They weren’t better than Tennessee last season without Rickea Jackson. Tennessee is adding four P5 starters from the ACC/SEC plus two redshirt signees from 2024.

Back to that victory led by three players not one player, Sara Puckett 13 points and 8 rebounds. Jewel Spear 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.

I think it’s obvious why you would exclude those players and speak only about Jasmine Powell.

You are entitled to your opinion those are facts I posted (win, three players in double figures and contributing equally to the win).

Watch the replay. The other players in double figures had very bad shooting nights. It was JP's 3 pt shooting in the second half that won that game. Neither team stood out as that much better than the other that day so early in the season in a 3 pt win. IMO that game doesn't prove much if anything about the upcoming season.

It's a pretty safe prediction that Oklahoma will be much better next season than last.

You’re still giving your opinion … fact is three players had great games contributing equally to the win (a good performance is defined by more than shooting percentages and a couple 3pt fgs).

For you to exclude two out of the three top performers when one player in this case scored just 3points more than Jewel Spear due to your claim of a better shooting percentage being the deciding factor in the win ??? says a lot about that train of thought.

I don’t know what replay you are suggesting to me to watch that will change the stat lines and again the fact that all three players played an equal role in the victory over Oklahoma.

The only way to get top recruits is to turn some heads next year or a deep run tournament time in which the 25 recruiting for high school will pretty much be done.

Not always true, players will commit before the season even starts and I’ve seen players commit to schools that wasn’t winning anything.
