I'm thinking just the opposite .. in a system run where 3 pointers are shot at such a high pace. Tess will undoubtedly have plays run for her.
It’s not about the plays ran for her it’s can she get the shot off. You could see Tess was rushing her shot against the more athletic teams which led to her shooting 32 % from the 3 and 33% from the field.

In this system yes.. too slow and can’t dribble.. but she is big..

Go watch Marshall. They had little aislin Hayes guarding Strack half the game

She does not care
That is suicide in the SEC. You did see what Virginia Tech did to Marshal? 43 point loss to any team is unacceptable. Hell, Carson Newman keeps up with power 5 schools better than that.

Tess is bigger than Aislin. Im not saying she will be there all the time. But in certain sets… yes.

Remember they dont play long. I don’t see her playing more than 10 mins then maybe not at all…

CKC is going to rattle most of the fans and maybe even the players. She said in an interview that the first couple of months are about players unlearning a lot like rushing to get back on defense. She’s looking for shooting volume and offensive rebounding. I know she wants a strong defense, but her focus is offense.

You also have to think about Talasia Cooper and Kaniya Boyd not to mention Destinee Wells. Destinnee was given the green light on everything at Belmont. She may also thrive in this system if she doesn't have to think pass first and can just settle in and shoot the 3. She is very capable. Kaiya, Talasia, and Kaniya give us very fast 6-foot lengthy guards that would be great in a pressing game.
Yes, I keep forgetting about Boyd and Cooper since they did not play last season. They seem well suited for some aspects of CKC's system but probably both need to work hard on their 3 point shooting this off season (as does Wynn).

CKC has a solid foundation if she can keep everyone on board.

Just saw that Nyla Brooks posted on her re-offer from Tennessee.

Yeah people here cannot grasp what is to come…

That’s why it’s so hard to reply here. Some are so indoctrinated into Pat hall or “SEC” ball they talk in circles and absolutes with no understanding

That was an interesting comment. Something like, "We don't want players getting back on defense we want them running forward."

I have no idea what that actually means in a game situation. I am guessing that statement is not exactly what she wanted to convey.

Tess is an okay ball player who lacks speed and quickness, who at 6’2” has limited hops. Put her in the 5 and she gets eaten alive. She is more of a 3 or 4. As far as her shooting 3’s is concerned, many times she needed a lot of space before she would even attempt to shoot the 3. Her offense also disappeared in several games. To do what the new coach wants to do on both sides of the ball, we are going to need speed, quickness and good reliable shooters. I still believe with a little work Tess can improve on her shooting.

I think she was trying to say that when the other team is on offense, she wants her defense to rush to the other end of the court to stop break aways, fast breaks, and mismatches. Just a wild guess!!

I believe what she was trying to convey was that she wants her team fighting fr offensive rebounds before simply acceding the rebound and then getting pressing defense 40 feet.
