I’d selfishly like to see our name associated with players if nothing else. So far, I’ve only seen Lucy Olsen, and all internet rumors point toward Iowa wanting her and her wanting Iowa back.
I’m hoping the same, I guess she might choose Iowa because she know she can have a green light and the ball in her hands 90% of the time.I’d selfishly like to see our name associated with players if nothing else. Upgrade, realistically, for this season, is bringing 2 to 3 players who are good fits for CKC's system (May not be "stars" but they can play in a fast past pressing style). You don’t want the roster upgraded or u think this roster can win a championship?
Those threes wasn’t falling last yr.if it wasn’t a spot up three Tess wasn’t taking the shot and that didn’t help the team.Nah, not in CKC's system. She needs to work on logo threes and beyond. She pulled a few times this season from around 25 and that was a little out of her range. Needs to get comfortable from shooting out that far at least.
That and her father is a congressman in the State of Tennessee along with this being her 5th year. Don't think that if Tennessee let her go due to lack of athleticism there wouldn't be some kind of uproar. Sitting politicians seem to have connections.I didn’t see an issue with her conditioning, she’s just athletic enough, and that won’t change. But she’s a shooter so I can see the reason the coach wants to keep her.
Toward the end of the season, she was getting better at hitting 3s in transition and her release has gotten quicker. Those threes wasn’t falling last yr.if it wasn’t a spot up three Tess wasn’t taking the shot and that didn’t help the team.
I actually don’t mind her staying, I’ve never had a problem with her. She has her flaws but her shooting is always needed. That and her father is a congressman in the State of Tennessee along with this being her 5th year. You also have to think about Talasia Cooper and Kaniya Boyd not to mention Destinee Wells. Destinnee was given the green light on everything at Belmont. She may also thrive in this system if she doesn't have to think pass first and can just settle in and shoot the 3. She is very capable. Kaiya, Talasia, and Kaniya give us very fast 6-foot lengthy guards that would be great in a pressing game.Upgrade, realistically, for this season, is bringing 2 to 3 players who are good fits for CKC's system (May not be "stars" but they can play in a fast past pressing style).
She needs to keep the experienced players who are on good improvement curves. Tess is a proven shooter and has value. She is a better defender than she get credits for.
Wynn, Strickland, and Hollingshead might look much better in a faster paced system.
A player of Spear's caliber would be a very tough to replace in the portal.
CKC is a little behind on the portal game so the more roster spots she has to fill, the tougher the challenge
