Just wanted to post this as this is what coaches are dealing with today with a lot of players.
Definitely did just wanted to prove that the portal is not as empty as some people say. Maybe these players will never reach their potential, but at one time they were regarded as having a lot of potential.I think you're even undercounting by quite a bit!

My thoughts exactly. Recruiting has been terrible. Why would you keep the recruiting coordinator from the staff who couldn’t recruit?
Yeah, her Marshall group is unlikely to have strong contacts, if any contacts at ALL, with Top 50 players. I have no idea what Marshall's recruiting budget is, but I think it's safe to assume it's not big enough that they can afford to spend much chasing Top 50s. The Marshall staff simply isn't accustomed to seriously looking at/ approaching the kind of players Tennessee needs to be going for.I would assume that she would want a lead recruiter with some connections. Whether that turns out to be Sam or not remains to be seen. I know her Marshall group probably doesn't have that for sure.
We talking California or Alabama on that minimum wage?Counter offer:

This times 1000. I’ve read the new coach needs a great recruiter since she’s new to the turf of high level D1. Are people this confident that KH was the problem and not Sam? Just asking because from my viewpoint the current recruiter wasn’t doing too well.My thoughts exactly. Recruiting has been terrible. Why would you keep the recruiting coordinator from the staff who couldn’t recruit?
Go home , we don't need anything UConn here . Everybody's opinion don't have to like yours. Mines not and that's OK.If you are really happy with the recruiting results of Coach Sam, so be it. She has done a wonderful job so far. Just because she may have relationships with '25 recruits, it doesn't mean they are good relationships. Cut the cord man.
This is really a different situation since Coach Caldwell probably hasn’t developed relationships with the sort of D1 recruiters we would need. Sam is a talented recruiter, that is really her specialty. Plus I really hope she can help re-recruit our commitments and recent signees. No reason to doubt the commitment. It's mostly other posters here (no offense to them) that I see stubbornly arguing against your sensical point, either on grounds of sentimentality or unfounded fears. If there is resistance, it won't be from the AD. This is a place where we can massively upgrade. Plus, CKC needs staff accountable to her. I can't imagine a situation where a coach doesn't have her own selected staff. It's an essential part of her job. It's the way she implements and teaches, recruits high schools and the portal and molds her locker room and game day. If assistants are forced upon her, she's a head coach in-name-only. And she's already under the weight of the old ways.
I really hope our AD is not helping her make her decisions on her staff. To me that would not be a good sign.Exactly. If Danny and Kim think it’s a good idea bc of the relationships formed with recruits, they’ll keep her. I’m not married to the idea that she has to stay. However, Caldwell is going to need someone with those relationships as an assistant. To not set her up with someone with prior relationships to the players we need, would be setting her up for failure.
