2024 Transfer Portal Thread

Here's my thing with Felix... if he's a defensive rim protector, he's already an upgrade over any one we had on roster last year. He's just 5 months older than JP so growth potential is still there if you want to see his offensive game improve. But if you bring in Dubar and then land Tyson and/or Igor the 5 spot is no longer someone that you need scoring 10+ every night.

So upgrade to Awaka in size, upgrade over Aidoo in rim protector (seriously played less minutes this year and almost had 20 more blocks than Aidoo 83 to 66). And with his ability to finish at the rim you really just need him to learn the pick and roll game with ZZ and he's got the potential to be a 10/8/2 guy all day.
Well. he has size and athleticism and does seem to be a pretty good rim protector. However, I doubt as a junior next year he will give you as much scoring as Aidoo, and he certainly doesn't have the low post back to the basket skills of Awaka. The limited video that I've seen shows no drop step, spin, jumphooks left or right, or fall away skills. I just feel like Tennessee has an elite program now with all the sweet 16, elite eight, and SEC championship success recently. And we put a player into the lottery too! With such an outstanding resume it seems like we should do better than just a lateral move at the 5 position. IMO, with the exception of UCONN we have as good or better sales pitch as anybody, including the blue bloods.

About to get on a connecting flight to Seattle, any promising news before I board a long flight would be welcome!
