2024 Transfer Portal Thread

The Tennessee coaching staff has been in contact with upcoming freshman in the class of 2024 who decommitted from Michigan due to the coaching change of Juwan Howard. Christian Anderson Jr is an international prospect and has played for Dutchland and was one of the top 40 international players in the world who got to play at the NBA basketball without borders where he started point guard and won the championship.

I just got to go ahead to be able to share this information and this would be an absolute incredible pickup for Tennessee. They are working on setting up a visit right now. One of the most awesome things I've learned this offseason is that the coaches are not the only ones who do recruiting for the Tennessee basketball team, but they also have other guys on staff that doesn't really go on the road but they help land guys like Felix Okpara, Darlinstone Dubar & potentially Christian Anderson Jr.

Zakai Zeigler would be a perfect mentor for a season for this young man... Let's Go VOLS!!!

Would be good to get him but I would temper expectations a bit and hope the goal would be to have more balanced scoring across the board. In the 5 games Lanier played against high majors (none of which made the NCAA tournament), Miami, Georgia, Florida State, Iowa and LSU he averaged 14.6 ppg on 46% FG shooting. Decent but none of these teams are high level defensive teams. Every other team he played was in the 250's or over 300 in team defense. If he can get a consistent 14-15 per game next year on a balanced team that would be ideal.

He had 4x 30+ games but all those teams were horrendous defensively and one of those games was a 2OT game in which he played 49 minutes. In those 4 games he only saw 2 guys that were 6'10 and 1 dude who was 6'9. Most of the guys defending him were smaller than him. He averaged 4.5 and 4.7 ppg the 2 years prior to him blowing up for 19.7 last year. It will be an adjustment for him in the SEC in my opinion. His low release is potentially an issue when teams scout him. They will crowd him and he will have to drive and try and finish over much bigger and better athletes than he is accustomed to. UT has played alot of smaller programs over the years and I've seen time and time again where we have locked down guards who had high PPG. He would benefit from having guys like Mashack defend him in practice too.

Some dude on Twitter with 7,000 followers whose bio is “Transfer portal insider.” Said Cade Tyson told him this himself, but why would Cade reveal his commitment exclusively to this random guy and then not a single other reporter picks it up?

He just steals info from discord. Funny how his tweet said he was informed by Tyson himself though.

But not the guy some idiot(cav) claimed was a portal guy, right? Two different dudes for sure.

It's on all the recruiting sites.
It's on his IG
Not sure exactly what you are even talking about...
As I told you politely once already: a class of 2024 recruit is not "in the portal" - they can't be. Only college players are in the portal...
This recruit is an upcoming freshman.

I am sure that the Vols Basketball coaching staff would laugh if they were to take the time to read some of the guesses and opinions on players that we are supposedly getting or even recruiting. I don't know what is truth or what is opinion most of the time. I just want the Vols to sign the best players possible so we can have a chance to win a NCAA Championship! I am like most of you. I Bleed Orange!
