Thought Igor was our dream stretch 4 so is it proper to consider him in that rotation?
I don’t like our logical position, but will play the you never know card till I can’t.Seem to recall hearing or reading that his father might have been a UNC fan. If so, Cade might also have UNC leanings? Also read that his favorite players were Tyler Herro and Luke Kennard. A dookie and kat. In short, no idea. Just have to think proximity to family and playing for the state school/blue blood will be a draw that's too tough to overcome.
I see. But if we get Igor and Okpara, one would not expect Awaka to return. I'd have to see that as highly unlikely.Yes. Because those 5 players would likely be mixing up minutes at both the 4 and 5. And considering Barnes is shifting to a rotation that preferences 4-guard lineups, playing all of Phillips, Awaka, Okpara, Estrella, and Phillips isn’t happening. Phillips is probably going to have a very limited role next year regardless.
This is not apples to apples...Just to illustrate how good Aidoo was:
Flexi Okpara
24 MPG 6.6 PPG 6.4 RBG 0.5 AST 58.6% FG
Jonas Aidoo
25 MPG 11.4 PPG 7.3 RPG 1.0 AST 51% FG
Massive drop in production, even though Okpara would be a nice pick up.
What am I missing - weren’t they both sophomores last season? This is not apples to apples...
Felix Okpara is a sophomore versus Aido as a junior. Another year of development and growth makes a difference.
Comparing both's sophomore years more accurate infact very similar sophomore stats.
I'm an Aidoo fan I'm disappointed he's leaving. But I do like Okpara, he's one of the top C I liked, behind kid from AZ who went to Indiana, and Omoryuri
Yay I can finally feel good about myself and shut upSorry for the delay @TrippieRedd you were correct, it was Okpara.
He has legit NBA potential, obviously Aidoo did as well but not sure that comparison is fair, Awaka will always have some limitations due to his size.Okpara also hasn’t been playing basketball his whole life. He has a very high ceiling and I think CRB has the right tools to unlock him. Could see him taking a massive jump over the next 2 years.
