2024 Presidential Race

@volinbham

It was Gerald Ford, who was not elected President or ever even elected Vice President. He was appointed to replace Agnew, and then ascended to the presidency when Nixon resigned. So, even then, it was done under unusual circumstances.

Yet it is a central slogan for your party. Good luck.
Well, you know ..... if Trump's own theory from January 6, 2021 is accurate (and yes, it's still horse $hit) then Kamala Harris can just count the electoral votes she wins and refuse to count the ones she doesn't during the roll call of certification. Per Trump, Pence should have done it.

Is it safe to say that Trump will no longer feel this way?

That is what he is disagreeing with. And I am disagreeing with his disagreement.

I'll ask it this way.......can a reasonable person conclude that Biden was fit for office 3 years ago?

Can a reasonable person conclude that Trump is unfit for office?
Reasonable people knew Biden was unfit in 2020. He’s been nothing but a bumbling, stumbling, embarrassing ass puppet. He hasn’t made the first decision since being in office. He’s been told what to do since day one.
He’s been lost on stage, fallen on stage, fallen over on a bike, fallen on AF1 stairs, switched to the short stairs on AF1, had the hell scared out of him by a handler in an Easter Bunny suit, used scripted interview questions and index cards to remember who to call on, had 9:00 a.m. lids, lost his train of thought while speaking on many occasions, pulled Ron Burgandies on the teleprompter….. his whole presidency has been a hot, stinking, mess of garbage.
Reasonable people knew this was going to be the case back in 2020….

It's fair to be critical of how long it took Democrats to see what was happening to Biden. However, it has become customary practice for the party with an incumbent President to take preemptive action against primary challenges.

Are you really this naive? They knew he was cognitively impaired in 2020. The democrats used him because people associated him with Obama, knowing he was nothing but a means to try and win back the WH.
They didn’t just figure it out…. They just can’t hide it and lie about it any longer.

Also, JD Vance has said that he agrees with Donald Trump that Mike Pence had the authority to refuse to certify the electoral college vote during the roll call on January 6, 2021. Vance has said that he would have done what Pence didn't.

It begs the question ..... Will Kamala Harris have this same authority? I mean .... JD wouldn't show partisan inconsistency on this, would he?

Just checked in and Lawd a Mercy. They done lost they minds. (As I supposed)

Busy weekend but I'll check back when I can..

I don't see the problem.

Of course you don’t. I’ll ask the question anyways. If he lacks the mental acuity to run for re-election, how does he have the mental acuity to run the country for the next five-ish months? Only an intellectually dishonest person could convince themselves that he’s fine to be president a second longer.

Like I said..Good luck.
If Trump does win, and it looks like he will ..... I will be surprised and very disappointed if the losing campaign doesn't immediately be gracious in conceding defeat without ever casting any doubt on the legitimacy of the outcome. I also hope to see a smooth transition with no lawsuits filed and an uneventful certification of the electoral college vote that's as boring as a formality should be .... and then culminated by full Democratic Party attendance at Trump's inauguration, without any sour grapes expressed.

It's the best way to put words into action. The contrast with Trump's antics from 2020 would be obvious to everyone.

You want Trump to be the first to extend the olive branch? After everything the Democrats have thrown at him? Good luck with that. Nothing in his past behavior suggests he has that in him. The left was not gracious when he won in 2016. They created Russiagate and kept trying to impeach him. The left was not gracious when they won in 2020, bringing lawsuit after lawsuit against him. Yet now, you think Trump should be gracious if he wins.

I've said all along, neither Trump nor Biden should be POTUS. Biden is obviously cognitively impaired and has been his entire term. Several of us on the board noticed it in the run-up to the last election. But you and the other leftist posters decided anyone who pointed out the obvious was a "Trumper". Personally, I don't like Trump. He's an arrogant POS human being. I think both parties should be giving us better choices. But they're not. I won't vote if those are my choices, but it's obvious who should win if our choices are a mentally deficient octogenarian or an egotistical SOB.

Let's not forget him telling wheelchair bound Chuck Graham to stand up.
What a damn buffoon.

And if he wasn't getting pummeled in the polls, none of this replacement talk would be happening. People that believe the debate was some eye opener for these people are incredibly gullible. The dems were counting on their sheep to ignore what was slapping them in their faces.
