Texas has seen nine mass shootings over the last 14 years while lawmakers have steadily loosened restrictions on carrying firearms.

Santa Fe High School Shooting (2018) .... 10 dead
El Paso Walmart Shooting (2019) .... 23 dead
Midland-Odessa Shooting (2019) .... 8 dead
Uvalde Robb Elementary School Shooting (2022) .... 21 dead
Allen Mall Shooting (2023) .... 8 dead

^^^ Those are 7 mass shootings over the course of 7 years, which accounted for the deaths of 101 people, including many children.
