But that's not at all what you said. No, I am stating that he will not be so quick to believe what unelected bureaucrats and politicians tell him.
Yes and Bible Topic Thread (merged)Didn't you recently join? How do you know about the Bible thread?
You said teachers were happy about being non-essential - that's simply false and stupid and now you're backtracking.I can post for you numerous teachers unions who fought tooth and nail not to go back.
Okay, you want to avoid the points I brought up... no problem.
But yes, every Governor did go into panic mode because the citizens were in panic mode because the media was in panic mode since they were getting absolute sh!t for "information" from the federal side.
Is that Trump's fault? Yes, partially... more than half. He allowed their guessing game to go on far longer than he should have and by the time it became apparent Fauci was FOS, he had been elevated by the media into some folk hero saving the world. Trump got trapped by the very monster he created.
So, anyway, I don't hold the lockdowns against any Governor. I do hold them accountable for keeping them going for fast longer than they should have. I'll give DeSantis credit for opening up sooner rather than waiting on Fauci to make a decision.
Then the gop is rotten to the core. If you get down to Haley in your search for a competent candidate then it's really time to pause and review the search criteria
Here's the thing -- from what you quoted -- DeSantis actually did not in the beginning take a conservative stance on it. He was all aboard on the restrictions train. It was only later that he developed -- falsely -- the narrative that he "kept the state open," or some such nonsense.
Where have you been the last 30 years? Of course the GOP is rotten to the core, same as the DNC. It's one big UniParty party to borrow from Carlin and Trump is probably one of the best of the group since Reagan.
Trump the best of the group since Reagan? Did you really say that?
The gangster has been involved in politics for 8 years now, or so--and yet you MAGA seem UTTERLY clueless about the man and the qualities needed to be president of the United States. Seriously, people who still support the man have to be either mentally ill or the dumbest people on the planet--or they just have no moral sense anymore. He is a deeply, deeply, corrupt and vile human being; a deeply, deeply dishonest and sinister man; a man deeply, deeply unfit to be president of local Drunk Uncles' Club, much less the presidency. He's an embarrassment, a man who respects no one or nothing but his deranged and fraudulent ego. Two legit impeachments, a legally affirmed sexual predator; two convictions for defamation; a conviction for bank fraud; a settlement for creating a fraudulent real estate "university," an upcoming trial essentially for sedition--attempt a coup and inciting an attack on the U.S. Capitol that got people killed. We had a president who tried to subvert our democracy and an election--and in doing so is responsible for the deaths of multiple policy officers. Spews lies and utter nonsense every time he speaks. Owes more than $500 million in legal penalties right now--and more to come. I could go on. Try to grasp the reality of the lowlife that is Trump. MAGA are scary.

Broadcaster Bob Costas rips into Trump and his supporters:"He is by far the most disgraceful figure in modern presidential history...You have to be in the throes of some sort of toxic delusion in a toxic cult, to believe that Donald Trump has ever been in any sense, emotionally, psychologically, intellectually, or ethically fit to be president of the United States."
You made the Costas quote seem prophetic.Well let's see, you have Daddy and Son Bush who both lied the Country into wars and killed countless innocent people in the middle east. McCain, who supported both those wars and was a neocon piece of crap himself. Romney, who was and still is a brainless puppet of his big money donors. Who else is left? Dole?
Trump is easily the best of that group. Not even close.
