I do and I don't. I think erring on the side of caution in the beginning was somewhat prudent. But when it became a far more political issue, they should have backed down.

Why didn't you say teacher unions fought to keep teachers out of harms way while most teachers were desperately wanting to get back in the classroom regardless of the risks?

Is that Trump's fault? Yes, partially... more than half. He allowed their guessing game to go on far longer than he should have and by the time it became apparent Fauci was FOS, he had been elevated by the media into some folk hero saving the world. Trump got trapped by the very monster he created.

So, anyway, I don't hold the lockdowns against any Governor. I do hold them accountable for keeping them going for fast longer than they should have. I'll give DeSantis credit for opening up sooner rather than waiting on Fauci to make a decision.

I guess I'm speaking in terms of the subjective why, not the accuracy, years later.

Subjectively, Trump did what he did because that was the best information he had. So I am not critical of his leadership then.

Same with DeSantis.

For a time.

But then the right wing media decided to villainize Fauci. And then we started seeing folks like DeSantis stop acting out of subjectiv belief of what was right or wrong, but for their own political purposes. I just think that's a cynical view for someone who wants to be POTUS. And I'd rather see Trump defending what they did based on the info they had, than joining the bash science train. I just think that has longer term ramifications

Where have you been the last 30 years? Of course the GOP is rotten to the core, same as the DNC. It's one big UniParty party to borrow from Carlin and Trump is probably one of the best of the group since Reagan.

Well let's see, you have Daddy and Son Bush who both lied the Country into wars and killed countless innocent people in the middle east. McCain, who supported both those wars and was a neocon piece of crap himself. Romney, who was and still is a brainless puppet of his big money donors. Who else is left? Dole?

Trump is easily the best of that group. Not even close.
