For anyone thinking somebody might be supplanting Small as our top back, it appears Coach Mack doesn’t share that opinion
No. He's definitely #1.
The most reliable right now.

But Wright put some serious strength training in this off-season. Yeah he's been off the field because of precautions, but looking at him physically he's a whole different player from just 8 months ago. Honestly looks to be about 210 or so. Not the 200 they him listed at. Throw the talented freshmen and Dixon, and our backfield is going to really gain some yardage.

Luckily the speculation ends soon❤🧡.

Joshua Josephs looks like a real football player. He's been hitting the weights hard! Looks at least 235 on his 6'4 frame. And he is so quick!

All those gamebreakers in shells or off to the side is fine. Calloway 4.4,White 4.3
Dixon 4.4 ,Wright 4.3 are all guys that will be tough to deal with .

Mitchell and Banks at LB....that's what we all want to see!

This is a good looking team boys.....
Wooooooo!! GBO!!!
LittleVol, this team just looks different from the team that was in Nashville in December. Can not wait to see the them on the field.

Probably when players hit the transfer portal it is for 2 reasons. Not going to start or not a good fit. Thought Mincy would ball out. Now just looks like a backup as best. Portal players are 2 deep at best.

Think McCoy when cleared could be an 800 yd receiver.

We have 4 guys who can get to the passer now it seems: Pierce, Josephs, Baron, and Young. This is going to help us tremendously on 3rd downs which killed us last year. Couldn't get off the field. If the secondary would learn to cover on 3rd downs that would be even better. We were so close in several of our games last year, and that would have made all the difference in the world.
What about Roman Harrison?

They jumped up on them fast and then just went flat. They should have stomped Purdue.
Depth and cohesion all played a factor in the game. Purdue went it took it. Gotta love their aggresion in that game

Heupel said today that the young edge guys (Pearce and Josephs) will need to grow up fast. In his interview with Greg Mcelroy. I think those guys are going to really bring some punch to this defense.
Just having that raw athleticsim come into spell Young, Harrison,, Barron every 10 plays or so is going to be huge. Yeah I think they'll get close to 20 snaps a game near seasons end. 5-10 at the beginning.
Deeper secondary, deeper edge and LB. DL still has some veteran bodies.

Of the 4 above mentioned receivers, with that kind of speed are not starting. Callaway blew his chance against FL last year. What about Keyton, Holliday & Merrill. What are their speeds. We look deep at WR.

Not sold on Small never have been. Given 25 Carrie’s per game he might rush for 800 yds. Hopefully some of the younger guys will come through. We have not recruited the RB position very well the last few years.

Really? So, just cast Calloway aside for a career because of one play?

Ah yes last year when he averaged ten Carrie’s and game and rushed for 800 somehow he would need 15 more a game to get back to 800. You are one smart individual ain’t ya

Mack has some good quotes! Refers to pass protection as “putting your face in the fan”…LOL. Also interesting to hear “pads + 2” as their focus for minimum yards after contact.

With the amount of possessions our opponent’s get, I expect you I have at least one of our edge rushers to have double digit sacks this year.
If our defense improves just a little bit and the injury bug doesn’t hit us, I expect great things from this team.

He had 800 yards and 9 tds last year on only 140 attempts. That’s far less than 25 attempts per game. You seem pretty uninformed.
