2022 Fall Practice #1

man the press talked to just about the whole roster. These kids couldn’t have been more gracious answering questions. They seem energetic and fired up for the season. Gonna be a fun year 🍊

DBs Kamal Hadden and Andre Turrentine (Ohio St transfer) bickered over who would defend All-SEC WR Cedric Tillman in 1-on-1 drills. They're in position battles and wanted the test of the team's best wide receiver.

This ladies and gentlemen is what you want to see...
Sounds like we got some guys that are hungry

My point is there was TALENT…we simply weren’t aware of it (except for Chizzle). Same as Velus. We land those “3-4 other targets”? You betting that Heupel and crew don’t get significantly more out of them? It’s why better coaches get paid.
Those 3-4 other guys probably leave when Pruitt’s gone.

You create your LUCK. How fortunate a find was he up until Heupel took over?

Absolutely. So many factors played into all of this.....but it worked out in his and TN favor. Part of it is a mental change that happens when you think you have a fair and honest chance. If you believe, a lot is possible. And he took the opportunity. Good for him.....I hope it lasts for years to come.

Noticed that about Eason as well. Him growing into DT could be a really good sign for the future of the Vols. That was a pattern during UT's best years. The result was often guys who were extremely athletic for their new position.
I can’t recall a LB growing into a DT then, please remind us. I remember guys like Henderson and Haynesworth who were top 5 rated DT’s out of hs

Practice #1 was in full pads...I like it. When I played back in the stone ages we never had "shorts and shells", these young men do not need to be babied let them play old school.

GBO!
Is McCoy lazy? Was expecting be things from him. Glad to hear Keyton moving up.
