2022 Army game bought out (merged)

Danny White just said on the radio that it was cancelled because there was no value in playing an option team while rebuilding, when no SEC team we will play runs that offense. There is no strategic advantage to scheduling that type of team. He also said they've been talking about cancelling it for a few years. It honestly makes sense. Why prepare for a team that runs the option when no other team that you will ever play runs that offense? Akron might be an easy win, but at least they will get looks from Akron that will give them practice for in conference play.

I mean it was a crappy move to cancel that game because you are worried about knees getting taken out by the way Army blocks only to put a cupcake like Akron in its place
Dude we are thin enough when it comes to players. It is insane to take that risk. Chop blocks should be illegal. If you were the one that got injured your attitude would be different.

so what is this thread about again? ole kiffin trolling, ohio state problems, or an army game nobody else will play?
That nobody else will play? Wisconsin and Wake Forest play them this year. Wake plays them in 2022. LSU, Boston College and Syracuse play them in 2023. Coastal Carolina plays them next year and 2023.

He is ripping us a new one on Finebaum over this Army cancellation. Is he a Bammer? I'm trying to find his bio. He seems very biased and of course Paul is piling on.
Just some clown who’s trying to get some recognition by manufactured outrage. He’s hoping people will google his name after being on the Finebaum show.

good. they all have nothing to lose, money to make, and will all get injured. not a single sec school will play them, because there is no recruiting from it. let me know when alabama plays them.

He really rubbed me the wrong way. It wasn't that he seems upset at the cancellation, it was the "outrage" and self-righteousness about it. You would think the AD had killed a pregnant woman in broad daylight.

Maybe it was click bait, but he implied that a lot of fans were upset. I don't know anyone who does. This I think is what bothered me more than anything. He is neither an alum nor a fan, but he pretends to speak for us.

Eff that! No one speaks for me.

I had to really look to find where he went to school. He is from Illinois and went to Truman College in Missouri (I know, right? WTF).

No connection to the Vols other than as a Vol beat writer for KNS. He needs to get over the "faux outrage".

And Finebaum can KMA also. I have it on good authority that all he did in his days at UT is whine about how he got treated. I think he hates UT and always has, and doesn't always cover it up well either. Today was one of those days.

Pawwwl and Blake Toppemeyer rehashing this and talking about how there is a meeting of living Congressional Medal of Honor recipients in Knoxville the same week as when this game was supposed to be played. Now they’ll be recognized at a game against Akron instead of Army. Even invoked the General and UTK ROTC program as aggrieved parties.

Eff both of them. Neither speaks for the fans or the University. Most fans could give a crap despite Toppemeyer trying to claim otherwise. I have it on good authority that Finebaum never has liked UT, least of all when he was there. Might explain why he crawled up saban's arse and died a long time ago.

People like this are easy to fix. Ignore them and they will fade away into insignificance. Unfortunately, in 2021, manufactured outrage = journalism.

You take a cut block to the knee above or below and tell me what you feel.... lol bs it is dirty and there is a reason it is illegal in the NFL
He’s right, they do play by the rules. Conversely, UT reserves the right not to pay a million bucks to play them because of the way they play within those rules. Goes both ways.
