2022 Army game bought out (merged)

Pawwwl and Blake Toppemeyer rehashing this and talking about how there is a meeting of living Congressional Medal of Honor recipients in Knoxville the same week as when this game was supposed to be played. Now they’ll be recognized at a game against Akron instead of Army. Even invoked the General and UTK ROTC program as aggrieved parties.

He is ripping us a new one on Finebaum over this Army cancellation. Is he a Bammer? I'm trying to find his bio. He seems very biased and of course Paul is piling on.

Just paid Army $500,000 to cancel the contract and not play next year and replaced them with Akron. Now Army is without a game next year. Any details on any other reason we would have dropped this game?
What’s bad is they were going to honor living Medal of Honor winners in Neyland!!! Our administration is sooo stupid!! Think General Neyland would approve

I mean it was a crappy move to cancel that game because you are worried about knees getting taken out by the way Army blocks only to put a cupcake like Akron in its place

Meh who cares. We do not have the depth next year to take those unnecessary risks of playing teams who use this technique and probably shouldn't have been scheduled anyway. We wont see it again and it doesn't serve a purpose.

I mean Dave Clawson's team has no problem going to West Point and playing Army but we have a problem playing Army at home.

I'm just wondering what the source of his butthurt is. He really seems like he has an axe to grind.

And you still don't want to play the service academies unless you can afford to lose 6-8 guys to knee injuries.

Did Heupel ever go on Pencil Necks show? PF was interviewing new SEC coaches back in the spring and apparently Heupel had things to do and was absent from the list. Hope Heupel makes it a permanent absence from the show.
