2022-2023 Season Ticket Prices

It’s not price gouging when the price is dropping for more than half of the customer base.
Give me an example of how the price drops for new season ticket patrons? Using real world numbers. What was a new season ticket holder going to pay this year versus what they will pay going forward?

So as long as it's good for you, eff everybody else ?
Not at all…if it’s a smart business move (imo it is) then I get it. As I’ve repeatedly said I get those that are upset, good news is they aren’t required to renew their tickets, so they have a choice.

I think that there is a strong (positive) correlation between the FANS that continued going to games when the teams were mediocre and the stadium/arena was half full and the FANS that are now being forced to give up their existing arrangements of cough up more cash. The LOYAL fan base.

The administrators with the high salaries are only focused on the near term as they won’t likely be drawing those 6 and 7 figure salaries in 10 years.

I said the empty seats, not the sold seats. Many of those were sold as season tickets and not used. Not exactly the fan base. Nice try.
There’s empty seats regardless…many of those empty seats are grandfathered folks with no donation trying to sell them off as single game tickets and make money.

Those are the seats that will drop in price. Danny is spreading fairy dust with his tail of saving money for half.

And no, those are not the grandfathered seats. Those are in the lower bowl and the lower bowl is nearly full every game.

North end zone season ticket this year $950 including donation, next year same seat costs $600.

Bottom line is that the current administrators can squeeze out a little more cash in the short term for THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT. There is a lot of goodwill that has been created over a long term for THE UNIVERSITY that is being burned. Many of those blue hairs will have estates to be distributed in the coming decades.

Yep, and this is what makes it a very myopic move. You can't put a price on loyalty and goodwill.

Because they sell the tickets to scalpers, walk around Neyland pregame, they are everywhere.

Unless you win, that happens and money won’t be an issue at all, you disagree? You keep losing and it’s a moot point, ticket sales have steadily been declining for a while, no?

So, the same seats that are currently sitting empty. Gotcha.

Supply and demand.
Who said empty seats? They aren’t picking which seats are changing in price, it’s all seats….there were lower level season tickets available for purchase this year, were you unaware of this? Do you not realize some people who purchased season tickets this year never have before?

It is easy for Danny to fabricate the math because the program has been on an upward trend for several years. Therefore the demand has been there, the supply of available seats is low, and the marginal tickets available can be sold at huge premiums RIGHT NOW.

I don’t have a lifetime seat license, but if I did I’d be furious. Instead I’m just watching this unfold and believe that the long term, most loyal fans are being told a big eff you by the transient administrators. Doesn’t really affect me personally, but it is sad to see the long term, loyal common fans be dismissed by these short term employees.

The point is that they can't sell all of the tickets they have, now. So why freeze out the loyal customers who have supported you through the past 15+ crappy seasons by raising their prices when there are empty seats to be had, and you still don't have a winning product to promote???

What is so hard to understand about that? Do you really believe a whole new flock of fans are chomping at the bit to snatch up season tickets to watch a .500 football team? Create demand, first! It's Economics 101.

The people who want to go to games, now, and start buying season tickets can do it without any change to the pricing model. Tickets, as you admitted, are available. Sell the dang ones you got and then address the market.
