While many have expectations far beyond this, I don't think your prediction is too far off. It wouldn't surprise me if UT surprises somebody else like Missouri/Kentucky, so I'll say 7-5.

I don't understand why people are saying we lose to mizzou. Isn't that one of the 3 wins we had last year. So they are supposed to be remarkably better and we are supposed to that much worse. 🙄
I think Mizzou looked much better towards the end of the season. They came on strong, where we did the opposite. The general consensus I’ve heard is that if we had played them at the end of the season the end result would have been different. I think it is a toss up this year, and hope we can pull off the W.

Let's get past Pitt and then we'll talk Missouri.

We'll know a lot about this team after that game. And watch Missouri @ Boston.... should be a good game and let us know where we stand with them.

I also think we have a very good chance to beat UK. Something is going on at UK and I don't think it is good for them. I think we will just outscore them.

Against my better judgement, I'm gonna say:

Bowling Green - Win (1 of the worst teams in CFB)
Pittsburgh - Win (home field makes the difference)
W TN Tech - Win (Tech is garbage)
@ Florida - Win (even UF's 247 mods are now reporting Emory Jones sucks)
@ Mizzou - Loss (we lose a shootout)
South Carolina - Win (these cocks are limp)
Ole Miss - Loss (we lose another shootout)
@ Alabama - Loss (worst loss of the year)
@ Kentucky - Loss (just a bad feeling here)
Georgia - Loss (out athleted)
South Alabama - Win (easy win)
Vanderbilt - Win (7-5 baby!, 3-5 in the SEC)

Did they? This is mostly a case of something being repeated and accepted uncritically that just isn't true. Bazelak improved but his best game by far was week 3 vs LSU.... following the week he was handled by UT's D.

Their last 5 games were a 17-10 win over an awful USCe team in full collapse (it was the least points allowed by USCe all year), Vandy, 50-48 over Arkansas, and then two blowout losses to UGA and MSU. On the year they were dominated by Bama, UT, UF, UGA, and MSU with surprising performances vs LSU and UK.

They may beat UT. But UT has the better roster.... and even the better QB regardless of which of UT's options is the starter.

I think Mizzou following UF regardless of how the Gator game turns out is a trap. I do not believe that UK will replace 10 guys with NFL caliber skill plus backfill their two deep and be as good as they've been.

Minimum 6 wins- 7 or 8 possible or even likely if the Vols are well coached.

The Vols will be well coached. The only question will be if the coaching will be able to play catch-up for the lack of coaching they'd previously missed.

For a first year coach in the situation he stepped into
If both Missouri and ole miss are shootouts - meaning close games - losses aren't that bad
I personally don't believe TN loses either but definitely aren't losing both
