2021 recruiting rankings reality.

This, some fans don’t like reality. Have we had a good week in recruiting? Yes. Is our class ranked higher than it should be because we have so many commits? Also yes.

Will “most” (as indicated by an earlier poster) of our 3 stars get a 4th star? No, maybe 2 of them will. Certainly not most.

Are our coaches recruiting talent and not stars? Well...yes? But historically that doesn’t matter. Your top teams consistently pull classes made primarily of 4 star players and then have some 5 and 3 star guys to round out the class.

Do 3 star players outperform their ranking? Sure, some, but if you’re relying on outliers to build a program around then you may be hoping for something that will never materialize.

Will we lose some of the 3 star guys before NSD? Yep. Will we lose some of the 4 star guys? Yep. Will we lose some of the 5 star guy(s)? Maybe.
I bet you're fun at parties

So nothing really matters at this point, huh? Something tells me you would be one of the posters leading the complaints if things weren't going this well. For God's sake, Tennessee has never recruited LB's as well as Pruitt consistently does. If you can't enjoy that, then maybe you should be spending your time somewhere else? The Legion of the Miserable? Yeah, that's pretty accurate.

According to 247 we are ranked #5 (last night I checked). We have 9, 3STARS kids. I'm happy with the ranking but it could be better like Georgia's. We need to look at the average not the ranking.View attachment 274415
Amusing they have a highschool season slot of those 3* guys will bump up. If they dont have camps this year the star rankings will be more of a guess than usual and having solid evaluators will separate the classes more than recruiting rankings

You bring up a great point. The evaluations for this class will be even less "scientific" than they normally are and so this is a time when you see who really knows how to evaluate players on film. That will be all the coaches have to work from. Great post.

I’m 100% here for UF and UGA pushing Georgia (and others) back to middle-of-the-pack status, a la the 1990’s.

Maybe the 2021 recruiting classes will be the beginning of that.

Do you have a point? Yes. Do I know what it is? No. Is there any truth to any of this? Yes. Do I know what? Maybe.

Give me a break man. It’s so early and these coaches are recruiting like heck. A lot of these 3 stars will either be bumped up or lose their spot if we land who we want. These coaches like what they see and that speaks more than what these sites rate them.

I think Smart would be their first call. He would be crazy not to go honestly. Tough to come out of the East anymore, and at UGA winning the East and losing the SEC title will only be acceptable for so long.
Would think they’d call Dabo first. More of a connection to Bama and frankly a better coach. When he turns them down they’d probably call Smart and Pruitt. Beyond those 3 I’m not sure who they’d call. Maybe Meyer so they could land another big name. If Joe Brady has continued success they’d be crazy not to give him a call if an NFL team doesn’t get him first.

Cristobal...obvious top 3 choice.

Really crazy how few people understood my post. I'd rather have 8 kids with an average of .9xxx and our current #3 rank than 15 kids with an average of less than .9xxx and ranked #3. Is that so hard to understand? I don't care how early it is as that has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. Lol

Just admit you don’t understand scouting, player evaluations, and recruiting as a whole

Nice pointless post!

Joined in 2018. Lot's of free time on your hands. I was running calcs on my 1982 HP11C with made up rankings in the Forrest Davis magazine when you were a glint in your daddy's eye.

Yeah, ok. It's better for the average of 7 to be greater than the total of 10. Everybody gets it. It's still April. Lot's can happen before December when it counts and historically, UT can put a damn good roster of 5 star busts out there. Stars are important. Moreso at the end than the beginning.
