This is a family board. No discussion of the Hooker's 'job' allowed. :D
Preacher told a story one time about having some of his fellow preacher friends and their wives over for dinner and bible study. At the dinner table he asked his young granddaughter to say the blessing. She began the normal god bless mommy and daddy...and then proceeded to ask god to bless the hookers in Korea. Everyone opened one eye and looked around awkwardly. The preacher later had to explain that she was referring to Mr and Mrs Hooker, who are church missionaries.šŸ˜‡

Ehhh I mean I guess. I’m not sure about pretty good, but not horrendous. That’s not my point though really. I asked a simple question and he pretty much said I was a Dumb *** without actually saying that. I mean it’s possible that Harrison just doesn’t show off in practice because let’s face it, he won’t look the most athletic running around and doesn’t have the strongest arm in the world, but that doesn’t mean on Saturday he wouldn’t be poise and know what to do with the football is kinda what I was getting at. I don’t care who gets the nod at the end of the day, I just wanna win games. But sheesh be careful what questions you ask I guess šŸ˜‚
Stick to your guns, bro. If they are gonna cite the past numbers for the other QBs, then HB has nothing to be ashamed of in that category. I am not touting any one these guys as the best, and conversely, it seems ridiculous to me for us fans to act like we know any of of these guys is out of the contest, or even trailing. We don't know.

While I can agree with most of that statement ( I’m the one that asked him the question ) they cited that HB hasn’t shown anything to prove he’s a gamer, then I don’t understand what he has seen to think that Hendon can come in and be the starter? Dudes been in college for how many years now and never done a thing of any significance. But he’s practicing well so I guess that’s why? Idk to me that’s pretty contradicting

I am pretty sure the UT coaches do not agree with your notion that Hooker has "never done a thing of any significance." It's not video games he's playing out there on Saturday; these are not computer-generated graphics on an imaginary screen. When you step out on the turf at Virginia Tech or a hostile stadium, and you read a defense, and throw a pass, and take a hit, and score a touchdown ... yes, my friend, you have done something of significance. That is what every single coach at the U of T believes, no matter what any TV spectators or message board posters may think of Hooker's achievements.

See I disagree to an extent, obviously he’s played meaningful football, but by your notion JG " done something of significanceā€ and I think we could all agree that’s not the case. Cause if you look at the numbers then Jg was the same if not better than Hooker. So as fans, ( and some of us who look closely and studied football for years ) we are allowed to speculate, that’s what we do. But to say Hooker has done anything great to this point would be false. Im not saying he doesn’t deserve a roster spot, but to attack someone about HB not doing anything yet and a sentence later pretend that Hooker as done a ton more is asinine.

You're saying Hooker hasn't done anything of significance at VaTech? Completed over 63% of his passes with over 9yds per att and a very solid qb rating in whatever system you use to rate. I also notice the Hook rarely stares down his target while Milton (I like em both very much) tends to lock on and not go thru reads as well. And the Hook is a much better runner. Take a deeper look at the Hook. I'll be pulling for whomever wins the job, but Hook is getting a look.

I don’t want to come across as not rooting for whoever deserves the job, so don’t take it that way. But 1,300 yds 9td and 5 picks isn’t anything to be overly excited about. And against weaker competition at that. Solid game manager maybe, but anything beyond that he hasn’t shown. I’m not so sure that this staff will be looking for a game manager either tbh. Can he change and improve? Absolutely! But to this point he hasn’t set the world on fire. None the less I wasn’t meaning for this conversation to sway towards what Hendon has or hasn’t done, more so that Harrison shouldn’t be discredited because he hasn’t done much, because quite frankly, there isn’t a Qb on our roster that has to this point

The good thing about all of this qb1 battle is that all have some experience. I do believe the battle is between Hooker/Milton/Bailey. One of these guys will be the starter. I could see Hooker being #1 for now and maybe all season while Milton and Bailey battle for the #2 or we could all be wrong and have no idea what they are thinking. I think by the end of the week we will truly know, but all of these guys are having ups and downs. Consistent will win the job

I think we see all 4 the 1st few games just to keep Florida guessing.

So I have a theory on the QB selection process the coaches are using. With basically about 4 weeks from start of practice to the first game, you can "drop" 1 QB per week of competition before the first game. So week 1, all 4 compete, week 2 down to 3, then week 3 down to 2 and finally week 4, game prep week is down to 1 your starter. With BM's tweet I think he was told he was out.

Hooker looks really good here but wow, he doesn't throw a tight spiral. Almost all of his balls wobble. They get there but they look ugly on the way. I hope our staff helps him do whatever he needs to do in his mechanics to fix that. Any QB gurus out there in VN who know what the issue is?

What’s not right with Milton’s head?
He lost his job at Michigan for being extraordinarily inconsistent with decisions and then seemed to lose his focus and get really wild with the ball.

It is nothing attitude or intelligence wise.

I'm not ashamed to say I watched all 15 minutes. I really like his speed and ability to escape the pocket and make a positive play. Milton has some of that but not like Hooker. Hooker scans the field, does a good job checking down to outlet. Likes to use his TE. Also, can we get #29 to transfer?

Wobbly passes were a Manning trait, as well. Eli always gives Peyton crap over that, even to this day!
