2020 UT passing UF recruiting

Last time UT finished ranked in the top 10 was 2001 so yes highly likely. I wanted Mullen but our AD waited to pull the trigger on him since he didn’t want to pay Butch’s buyout. After the Schiano garbage I thought Pruitt was the best option available. After watching 2 seasons I think the odds are much higher that Pruitt is fired by Jan 2023 than UT being ranked in the top 10 in Jan 2023.
I personally feel the opposite, but you definitely have the right to your opinion.

It is "highly likely" that Pruitt will never end a season in the top 10? It's way too early in his tenure to be that negative, and at least so far, he is recruiting too well for that anyway. I don't think you will find very many posters on here as negative as you seem to be (and that is assuming that you even are a Tennessee fan, we get a lot of Gator fans here who like to pose.)
Their are lots of gator/bulldog fans that pose / troll other sec teams blogs. What a sad fan they both have always running their mouth about something . So thankful to be born and raised in East Tennessee and a Vol fan.

Ok maybe you should relax. We're approaching the same problem L.S.U had....being one good qb away from seriously contending for the east, which means we would be close to contending for the cfp. In the meantime, watch Pruitt build an elite defense. The U.T vs Florida game will be a top 10/15 matchup soon. So if Pruitt goes 9-3, 8-4, 9-3, do you think Fulmer would fire him, especially if he's competitive in all loses?

We didn’t miss out on Mullen. He was always going to wait for the Florida job...and he waited for Chip Kelly and Scott Frost to turn it down.

What are you talking about? UF has finished the season ranked in the AP top 10 in both of Mullen’s first 2 years. It is highly likely that Pruitt will never end a season with UT ranked in the top 10 and we aren’t calling for his head.

UF lost another guy off their 2020 class, Johnnie Brown and counting Leonard Manuel/Issiah Walker not making it, basically puts them tied with UT, 265 to 261. UF still has 3 guys not enrolled so wouldn’t be surprised at all if UT enrolls a higher ranked class. Beat them on the trail in 2020 and will beat them on the field in 2020.

yawn.......

I rarely like anything about a gator.

But your extreme sarcasm tickled me. Well done, reptile, well done.

p.s. Sarcastic humor notwithstanding, he really ain't the guy. I relish you finding out in earnest. ;)

Old 99 is a smug azz Sarcastic so and so; Ain't He? Well Tenn IS catching up in Talent, and Pruitt can deal with Mullen. I see this thing going about the way Saban & Meyer's matchups went. Going to get very interesting.

I didn't like John Currie, and we all know that he botched the 2017 coaching search, but this sentence I placed in bold is just not true. Butch Jones was fired after the Missouri loss on November 12, 2017, Currie did not start exchanging his infamous texts with Dan Mullen until a week after then. Currie was set to meet with Mullen on November 25th but then Chip Kelly turned down Florida for UCLA... and Florida shifted their attention to Mullen and in turn, Mullen shifted his attention to Florida. We know this because those text messages from Currie became public record.

The more you post, the more ignorant you appear to be and the more you just look like a troll. I don't believe that you are a Tennessee fan. You are most likely a Florida fan, desperately in need of a life.

The post was written in an over-the-top fashion on purpose and none of it was meant to be taken seriously.

Even the idea that JG is no longer confused by the fact that both helmets have a "T" probably isn't accurate.

You realize there are also lots of UT fans posting on other boards all over the SEC, right?

In fact, that has become very common. Every reputable SEC board has many from all over the SEC.

Lol, Secking starts a thread on a Vol site, posts once and leaves and then the gator posters show up in force, brilliant on stirring the pot.

Pruitt has to put together at least one complete season before we start calling for an CFP appearance.

Regardless of our issues at QB, you can't wait until the 5th game of the season to finally turn out a prepared team for the first time that season.

If Pruitt has a 3 year stretch like that then I think Fulmer would fire him IF there was a home run hire he could get. LSU and UGA were both in a similar situation 4 years ago and fired their coaches with 3 year records like that. I think everyone agrees that it was the correct move to fire Richt and Miles, even with winning records.

It is also important to look at how Pruitt got to those records. Last year should have been 9-3 without embarrassing losses to GA State and BYU. Even at 9-3 we would have had 3 blow out losses. Pruitt has to show that he can develop a QB, upset top 10 teams on the road, and compete and win some against Bama, UGA, & UF

Currie drug his feet on firing Butch to try and save money. Every fan knew Butch was a goner after the UK game. If he had been fired 2 weeks earlier then we would have gotten Mullen. Mullen was open to negotiating during the season, just not during prep for the Egg Bowl. If Currie had pulled the trigger after UK then Mullen would have already been signed before Frost and Kelly turned down UF.

Both Kelly and Scott Frost turned the job down before they even approached Mullen. They knew that he would wait.

I can't believe this ****. I was worried in 2018 when Tennessee scored two touchdowns. I gave Mullen a pass with it being year 1 and all. But, in 2019, Tennessee got in the red zone again and almost scored a touchdown last year too.

I told my brother right then and there, Mullen ain't the guy. Dude didn't even win the division at Mississippi State. Mississippi State! I was like how hard can it be. Yeah, beating LSU and Auburn is really easy when you're coach at Starkvegas. Hello, it's Starkvegas. And then, to get manhandled year after year by Nick Saban and Alabama. I mean, who lets that happen? You're Mississippi Freakin State. You beat Alabama 17 percent of the time. You don't think you could go out there and beat Alabama during the best run in that sorry program's history.

This is just further confirmation of the fact that Mullen ain't the guy.

I've seen a few fan posts lately saying Tennessee is being ranked higher as a better tailgating experience, has a better helmet and is competing for virtual national championships while Florida is out there doing.....what, exactly? Social Distancing?

Time to get your head out of your rear, Dan. Tick Tock, Dan. September is coming and JG isn't confused about both helmets having a "T" on them anymore.

I'm so done right now. So done.
I laughed my azz off

We beat Florida on paper every off season. It amounts to nothing until Pruitt can beat Mullen on the field.
