Needs specifics. In the opener? The majority of the 2020 season? I think Maurer is a SEC quarterback if he can stay healthy. Guarantano is what you already know. JT is a project. Bailey is the future.

I have no idea who will be QB. I just hope he has ice water in his veins, can make all the throws and makes all of us proud to say I'm a Vol.

Not going to make a judgement at this point. What excites me is we have some talent in that group that should push each other. GBO!

it'll be between shrout and bailey in the spring. maurer has the foot speed, but his passing is extremely questionable

jg transfers

hill will be 3rd string

Brian Maurer will be the starting quarterback for the September 5th 2020 opening game against Charlotte. Jarrett Guarantano will graduate transfer to a school close to home in the Northeast following the 2019 season.

I voted Jarette, because it's obvious that Pruitt will play him over better options. We've already seen it.

I thought the vote was about who will be the starter, not who do we want to be the starter.
For what you want to do, maybe. For Pruitt, JG was his best option.

I would say the odds of him returning are better than him leaving and that's not a good thing

Ehh.. none of our QBs have done great tbh.
It's good to have the experience, he's looked better coming off the bench.

What games have you been watching?...... never mind. I forgot you’re a stat hugger like K Town. You really need to start watching the GAMES instead of the box score. His accuracy has been WELL on display.

He's completed under 50% of his passes.. at some point you have to look at the numbers dude. Try that arguement with any other QB in college or the NFL, the numbers don't lie.

His numbers dont match the most important numbers, production. Sure his completion % is nice, however when you look at yards and points it makes that completion % just an empty stat. Even in high school JG had a nice completion % however his production was terrible. BM surpassed all of JG's high school career production in 1 season and so did Shrout. Production and Points are where it matters most and unfortunately for JG he just doesn't have that. Butch Jones was well known for tipping off recruiting services such as 247 with $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to inflate his recruiting rankings and ultimately thats what I think happened here with JG because when you look at his HS numbers realistically the guy should have struggled to get MAC offers and would have been a 2 star at best.

Overall yes. A lot of his incomplete passes came from throw aways and being unprepared to face Florida. What lexivol is trying to insinuate is about his passing ABILITY. Which is a false claim if you’ve watched the games. There are not many at all that didn’t hit the receivers in stride when actually throwing to complete a pass.

JG to Rutgers with Butch. Shrout Transfers to california JC. Maurer will start. Hill will backup. Bailey redshirts unless Hill goes down.
Don’t see the point of Shrout going JUCO...wouldn’t preserve any eligibility.

So “well known” that I’ve never heard as much of a rumor. When did he start forking out the dough? When Austin Kendall committed? JG was a top recruit then...so it had to be well before that. Wonder how Ohio State got so monumentally hoodwinked that JG was considered a lock to them before we (publicly) went all in? If your scoop is true, Butch is the puppetmaster of all puppetmasters and should be running the country instead of...whatever he’s doing down in Bama.

Go back and compare JG high school career stats to the following players Senior years alone, Justin Worley, Josh Dobbs, Dormady, Shrout, Maurer and you tell me if you think he was a 4 star Dual Threat prospect. They all out preformed JG's ENTIRE high school career in 1 season, its not secret it's been mentioned here before that Jones paid recruiting services. Anyone can fool the recruiting services, ANYONE and JG did just that with the help of Butch. Don't believe me, read this article about how some bored high school kids made a 3 star prospect out of air.

Neither of those links mentioned Butch. Participated in some threads on the subject. Now back to the shocking news story you broke, how much and for how long did Butch fork out money to pump up individual recruit’s rankings? Pure cash transactions so no money trail? Not sure what Worley had to do with it since he was a Dooley recruit and a junior when Butch arrived (and a 3 star). You say it’s “well known” so someone blabbed and no one wrote an article? Maybe waiting for that book to come out where Colton Jumper’s dad financed the whole shenanigans? Makes you appreciate our former coach for basically writing off that huge investment for his goddaughter when she was engaged to Dormady.
