2020 Schedule Udates.

Tennessee and Notre Dame have always had a good football rivalry and a good women's basketball rivalry.

Barnes against Brey would be a solid coaching match up.

Maybe we can get a home and home series against Notre Dame and it would continue the Atlantic Coast Conference portion of the schedule that Barnes enjoys doing.

Look for Tennessee to finally release the 2020-21 basketball schedule later today, or at least most of it. Tennessee will announce 25 of the 27 games today and two will be announced later. Gonzaga is not expected to be included in today’s announcement but we’ve been saying since the NCAA’s Orlando bubble situation fell through that we expect that game to still take place and we continue to feel strongly about that. Tennessee will begin the season with a MTE (multi-team event) on Nov. 25 with Charlotte and VCU joining the Vols in Knoxville for a three day event, round robin style.
The Vols will host Cincinnati in December as originally planned and look for one more Power Five opponent to be included on the schedule though not officially announced today. As of now the Big 12/SEC Challenge is still on, so Kansas will be coming to Knoxville in January. Add in the 18 SEC games and the Vols will likely (barring any additions we’re unaware of) have a 27 game schedule. It’s less than Rick Barnes was hoping for, but not bad in the current climate amid all the difficulties. So, that gives Tennessee almost three weeks to prepare for a season where the Vols look like legitimate contenders, if not favorites, to win the SEC and make a deep run in March.
