Yes. He played VERY poorly. UT won in spite of JG.he hasnt played poorly.....iu has played good redzone defense vs our playcalling. if he played so poorly, we would have zero and never moved the ball downfield
Dude. No. I did NOT say that QD should start in front of Dobbs. Worley was the starter in front of Dobbs. That's a historical fact.contradictory. u just said....the same **** he said u said. wow!
No. I simply didn't. You are lying.... and I say that KNOWING you can't prove it. I hoped KC would be a good QB. Then unlike you who doesn't really care about the facts... I watched some of his video and KNEW he wasn't the answer.and that is definitely a LIE! u did pull for chryst over JG
Or give someone on our roster a REAL chance.
One guy threw it 3 times and two of them should have been picks.....and he has shown, he throws a lot of them.
The other guy barely got any time......as bad as things have been......that probably says a lot.
JG looked ugly.....but still got you in position to win and they did.......6 in a row (via him.....bad, ugly or good).
Neither of these guys played good. The difference is that Maurer is a freshman. He has physical talent. He can become a very good QB. JG is a RS Jr and is still limited by the same kinds of problems he had when he first stepped on the field.
UT MUST have better than we saw tonight. In spite of a few good games, it does not look like JG can deliver it consistently.
One guy is a true freshman and made throws that make him look like one.
The other is a starter with 20+ starts over 3 years and made throw that make him look like a true freshman......
Yes. He takes chances which is good but he has to learn when to take them. One guy threw it 3 times and two of them should have been picks.....and he has shown, he throws a lot of them.
Pure, unadulterated BS. That's not even remotely true. He was getting 3 plus seconds on practically every pass play. The other guy barely got any time......as bad as things have been......that probably says a lot.
Or... he's the reason UT had to pull it out in the end rather than being up 21-3 at the half and winning by 10 or more. He missed multiple opportunities in those first 3 red zone drives.JG looked ugly.....but still got you in position to win and they did.......6 in a row (via him.....bad, ugly or good).
Yea.....I’ve said as much all season.
If you got a true freshman looking like one.....or a junior who isn’t looking good.....you prob at least have to go with the guy who gives you the “chance”........and they did.
People wanted Maurer to come in (all the time) and “be the hero”.......he simply wasn’t that....he was a true freshman, who consistently made true freshman mistakes. JG is a is a junior who isn’t and probably never will be “real good”......but he can get you to a win.
Maurer didn't look the same after he came back from that last injury. Not sure what it is or what happened. But the swag he had didn't seem to be there. The thing about Maurer is he was trending up as each game went on. His start to the Bama game was pretty nice until he got knocked out. Georgia and MSU were very much inconsistent.
Regardless, next year is going to be a major concern at QB in a year where Pruitt is going to be expected to make moves (Year 3).
On top of that pressure, we lose Jennings and Quez.
Between that and your coach looking for any reason to pull you....thatll cause you to force things. Of course making up points for your experianced QB will too....The thing about Maurer is he was trending up as each game went on. His start to the Bama game was pretty nice until he got knocked out. I agree BM wasn’t great but to be 2 months from his last snap, prepared as a backup for the last month and a game plan tailored to JG his improvise on 3rd down and scrambling ability was absolutely HUGE in the win. Probably the biggest 3 points of the game on what was obviously no more than a give up, play to punt drive. One guy threw it 3 times and two of them should have been picks.....and he has shown, he throws a lot of them.
The other guy barely got any time......as bad as things have been......that probably says a lot.

What's wrong with him playing bad yet the team still wins? It's either all about wins or all about stats. I personally think it's a bit of both, he played terrible but made enough plays down the stretch to help the team win.Yes. He played VERY poorly. UT won in spite of JG.
LOL@U. It wasn't IU's defensive playcalling. JG held the ball too long... he was late throwing to receivers who were open. The old JG was back and on full display tonight. Late and not just short but off target on throws that have to be made.
You aren't an honest person if you try to claim he played well.
I thought the team played more inspired that one drive. Commentators made mention of it too so it wasn’t just me. He hasn’t played in so long it’s to be expected that he’d need a few drives to get going.Maurer didn't look the same after he came back from that last injury. Not sure what it is or what happened. I think he has potential. I won't dispute that he hasn't played much in awhile. But he made a couple of bad and dangerous throws.... I guess you could say his were on target though. JG was wild on a lot of throws.I thought the team played more inspired that one drive. Commentators made mention of it too so it wasn’t just me. Winning is always better than losing. UT's risk of losing was much, much higher because of JG's play. Can you not be honest enough to admit that he stank it up? He looked like the guy who played vs Ga St. This time the team was good enough to carry him.... but IU is not a good team. They just aren't.What's wrong with him playing bad yet the team still wins? It's either all about wins or all about stats.
I'm glad you admit he played terrible. Thing is... instead of putting the bow on his turnaround... UT now has a real competition for the spot. UT would have been much better off without that uncertainty.I personally think it's a bit of both, he played terrible but made enough plays down the stretch to help the team win.
I agree. That offense was tailored to JG. The 3rd down conversion was an improvised play. So I kind of expected him to look like he did vs UF if Chaney wasn’t prepared with 2 different plans which is how he looked. But as far as the team playing inspired, I think the difference was obvious on that drive.I think he has potential. I won't dispute that he hasn't played much in awhile. But he made a couple of bad and dangerous throws.... I guess you could say his were on target though. JG was wild on a lot of throws.
But BM played in an attempt to settle JG down. IMHO, UT has to gameplan significantly different for Maurer to play. They aren't the same guy.
