2020 qb comparison/talk/debate (merged)

Every QB on UT's roster will run circles around JG during their careers either at UT or elsewhere.

Most won't have a new offensive coordinator every year of their career. Most won't play behind one of the worst lines in the country, subjecting them to getting hit hard multiple times per game. Most of them won't have a roster lacking playmakers. Most of them won't have the fan base turn on them and boo them in Neyland. But go on with your JG hate.

I mean, a lot of what you and 79 are saying doesn't sound objective at all. It's just plain hating on a dude for doing his best. Blame Pruitt for putting him out there. Don't fault the kid who is doing the best he can. He's not the best quarterback I've ever seen, but it's not his fault he's been given the opportunity to play. I appreciate his love for MY university. I appreciate the way he's represented MY university. I appreciate the heart he's shown playing for MY university.

I like JG, was impressed with him when he took the bullied kid under his wing and I think he is a great representative for UT. My concern with him as QB doesn't come down to talent or ability, but rather predictability. I just have no confidence that the "good" JG will show up on game day. He can look really great at times but then he has those inexplicable moments that don't exactly imbue confidence. Take one of his great games and apply it across an entire season he would be an NFL lock. Do the same with one of his bad games and he wouldn't be starting anywhere in D1. I sincerely hope his inconsistency is behind him and everything is clicking for him now. If so next year is his season.

I do blame pruitt for the way he handled the quarterback situation. Do I blame JG for trying his best know hes a Warrior I've said that period. But pointing out a player's deficiencies and where they're lacking at having a debate against people who are in love with him is not hating on the kid I respect JG for what hes done for the University but in the same respect for the University to continue to improve and grow it's time for him to step aside

3 ints 1 fumble
He also threw 2 touchdowns and ran one
How many did jG have???
So in basically 3 quarters he had 4 turnovers. Those are garbage numbers for a QB >1 turnover a quarter. He gives the ball away too much, until he quits turning it over he's never going to be the guy. He's never going to play here again anyway so why the argument.

You didn't answer my question about how many turn overs JG had. And also how many touchdowns that he contribute ?

OK K town junior. Explain to us why JG had worse stats versus top 25 teams then Brian our did against same teams in his 1st 3 freaking starts???
He didn't. . .

Only if you ignore throwing TDs and turning the ball over.

The one game you could say BM played better was UGA when JG didn't really play.

BM was still below 50% for the game and was terrible after the first minute of the second quarter.

They are not very hard to find as they are quickly becoming the go to site for player evaluation.
And yes I found the website. But like any website that trying to gain recognition with next Gen. Statistics there's usually a place where the statistics that they're trying to establish are defined as to what their parameters are.

Rolling your eyes at the VERY valid points I made about JG is being a hater.

Then he is also responsible for the worst loss in UT history. Nobody else just your quarterback by your own definition
We lost to Memphis State or Wyoming this year? I believe that we lost to a few worse teams than the GSU team that is going bowling.

Know that being childish. I agree probably not the best way to respond. But given the fact that there have already been dozen loves examples of quarterbacks going through the exact same stuff providing better play in lower conferences. Hearing the same excuses tends to get overwhelming

JG gets to play because his best attribute is that he protects the football. He struggled a bit with turnovers early in the year and it cost us, he didn't turn it over much the 2nd half of the season and lo and behold we won 5 in a row, funny how that works. BM gives the ball away EVERY quarter he plays, JG does not.

Dozens? Really? I'd love to see the examples you speak of. I'd love to. There are analysts calling JG one of the best stories in college football this year. You'd think they'd be talking about the dozen others

Are you really sick and up to compare to long time FCS teams to a team that didn't exist until 2010 and didn't become an FCS team until 2012?

His best wasn't good enough. It isn't "hating", its stating facts.

When we lost to losing Memphis State with Peyton freaking Manning and a team of NFL players it was worse than losing to a GSU team going bowling when we have a rebuilding program.

Get real
